Qualcomm yesterday announced the radioOne™ 6300 chipset, which works with GSM 2G, GPRS 2.5G high-speed data, and cdma2000 1xRTT 3G technologies. The radioOne Zero IF architecture eliminates the need for IF components, reducing size and cost for future wireless phones. The 6300 solution supports Release A of the cdma2000 1X standard, offering data rates of up to 307 kbps, with simultaneous voice services. The GSM and GPRS solution supports class 8 data services with data rates of up to 40 kbps on the forward link. Samples of the radioOne 6300 solution are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of calendar 2002.
