Nextel Begins Nationwide PTT Rollout

Nextel, Nextel Partners, and Motorola announced that Nationwide Direct Connect™ will begin rolling out today. Among the first Nextel markets to offer customers this service are New England, Florida, and southern California. The service will available in over 50 percent of Nextel markets by June 16, with the entire network enabled in August. Nextel customers in these markets will be able to connect using push-to-talk in less than a second between any of the cities within these areas.
