Sony Ericsson Unveils 3G Phone

(updated) Today at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France, Sony Ericsson unveiled the Z1010 dual mode UMTS/GSM-GPRS phone. The clamshell Z1010 is optimized for video conferencing and video applications, featuring two built-in cameras and two displays. The device also features 384k data speeds, Java, long-range Bluetooth (up to 100m), a 65,000 color main display, built-in USB, and Sony Memory Stick Duo™ expansion.

Google updated a handful of its apps and services today, including Duo, Allo, and Photos. Moving forward, Duo users on Android and iOS will be able to make voice-only calls when they wish.

Sony today announced the Xperia XZ2 Premium, a high-end Android phone that boasts some of the most advanced imaging features available in a mobile device. The XZ2 Premium has a 5.8-inch 4K HDR display (16:9 aspect ratio) that Sony says is 30% brighter than its previous mobile 4K screen.
