The Mobile Games Interoperability Forum (MGIF) this week released its version 1.0 specification. The specification outlines a basic set of common, reusable programming APIs for server-based Java mobile games. Benefits of the MGIF solution include reducing developer costs as well as reducing the cost of ownership and delivery of games for mobile operators and service providers. The specifications are publicly available at http://www.mgif.org. The forum also announced its intent to integrate into the Open Mobile Alliance by year-end.
