for the HTC EVO V 4G / EVO 3D (CDMA):
Horsepower all around + 3d really works
Everything is FAST on this phone -- really fast. No lags in OS, web browsing, or any of the apps I've tried. Downright amazing. And, although I agree with some that 3d is a novelty, it works and looks great. Every one of the 15 or so folks that I've demoed it for have been amazed, myself included.

for the Sanyo Incognito SCP-6760:
Nice looking but not very functional
Picked one up yesterday and am not at all impressed. The external display/functionality is limited in its usefullness -- can only make & receive calls; lookup contacts; call history, etc. No messaging or camera control from the front. This is really stupid IMO, since this IS a messaging/multimedia phone. Other observations: PROS: -solid build & keyboard -dedicated buttons (inside) for emoticons & messaging app -fast data (web, MMS send/receive) -call quality and reception are OK CONS: -phone must be open to do ...

for the Palm Pre (CDMA):
Worth the wait!
PROS: -innovative OS/interface -best pics I've seen from a camera phone -Sprint naviagtion included -- fast, works and looks great -tiny form factor -mounts as USB drive -Push Gmail, contacts, calandar -very decent/comfortable set of ear buds included -touch screen PLUS physical keyboard -great battery life (after a couple of days) FAST Internet CONS: -scrolling sluggish at times -battery gets warm w/heavy use

for the LG Lotus:
Nice smartphone alternative
Coming off a smartphone (Treo 800w), I've found it quite handy for doing a lot of texting and an occassional email (gmail). I plan on keeping it beyond the 30 day trial as it does a great job on the basics. Other likes/dislikes: LIKES: -keyboard (nice backlights) -bright display -threaded text msg app -camera pic quality -handy form factor DISLIKES: -email app freezes up frequently -web browser slow -vibrate is weak -Sprint "bubble" service outright stinks (very limited choices and content; auto updating of lags way behind realtime)

for the Palm Treo 800w:
Texting & emailing & web machine!
I've owned all the Treos, the Q, the Touch and even an iphone (very briefly). For what I primarily use it for -- text messaging, web and emails -- this phone tops them all. PROS: Super-fast data: No real need for the WiFi feature as long as you are in a EVDO-RevA area. I'm averaging 500 - 800 kbps from home and when in the city, I've routinely topped 1 Mbps. Physical keyboard: IMO, the best yet Email: with my ...

for the HTC Touch (CDMA) / XV6900:
Buggy + Sprint customization = garbage
The touch interface on this phone would be great if not for the inability to change the applications that Sprint has locked into this phone. I am refering to the touch cube and the Sprint 'Today' plug-in. Neither of these can be customized without extensive hacking. I've had the Touch for 3+ weeks now. I only run Exchange push email -- zero 3rd party apps, but have had numerous button lock-ups, frozen screens, and just generally buggy ...

for the Palm Treo 755p:
Same hOrSe, different color
First of all, the 755p is what it is: the same old, tired, non-multitasking Palm OS, with most of the same old, tired apps: Blazer, Bluetooth, non-flash camera, etc, etc. Probably a good choice for a 1st time smartphone buyer, but definitely NOT worth the $$ as an upgrade from a 700p, and a step backwards if you're coming off of a WM5 device. PROS - form factor: although only barely thinner and lighter than the 700p, the new, rounded edges ...

for the LG Fusic / LX-550:
A real power house -- not just bells & whistles!
LG has a winner here! Coming off of a Samsung a900, then the a920, there's no comparison. What I'm really excited about with this phone is it's Bluetooth performance. INSTANT call transfer to my headset and no loss of connectivity after almost 1-week of use (The Samsungs routinely dropped the BT connection and would not re-connect without re-pairing first). Also, no issues x-ferring all my Outlook contacts, AND...I can even x-fer Outlook appts via BT! ...

for the Palm Treo 700p:
Before you upgrade .. PROBLEMS
I'm experiencing BIG problems with Bluetooth on this baby (Sprint). Headsets pair OK, but then loose their connection -- sometimes right away, other times later in the day. I have to delete the pairing, then re-pair in order to get the headset to re-connect. This is a DRAG! Tried 3-different headsets -- same problem (Scala500, Samsung WEP150 & BluespoonAX). Also have problems coming out of a no-service area with the phone re-acquiring the network. I'm forced ...
