for the Sony Ericsson Z520 / Z525:
Love it.
This phone is simply amazing for the price. It does have small quirks - backlight duration can't be set and the camera is a bit easy to turn on. Other than that - I've had no problem with it. There was indeed a recall on this model due to software issues - most stores that carried these recieved new, updated z520's near the end of February. Mine is one of the updated models and has ...

for the Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557:
V551 VS V557
For anyone who was needing to know the difference.. I've had both of these phones, first the V551 because the specs were the same as the V557 and it was $100 cheaper (free from Cingular depending on where you go). Yes, it has nearly all of the features of the V557 for Cingular except the news ticker. However, that isn't the only difference, nor is it the big one. The huge difference between the two is signal ...

for the Nokia 6030:
Not bad
I have this phone as a temporary at the moment. It's not a bad little phone, I'll admit I didn't like it at all at first - it felt as if I were holding a TV remote up to my head - but, it grew on me. The sound quality through the earpiece and speakerphone is great, the phone is very compact and is almost unnoticeable even in a shirt pocket. It has a decent look ...

for the Motorola V260 / V262:
Bleh.
I recommend not buying this phone unless you have no other good options. For the time that my store sold these I saw so many of them come in with various problems - most all reception related. Nearly every one that was sold was like a boomerang - always came back. For some reason they seem to lose ability to get consistant reception after a while - dropping calls when in areas where reception is dead ...

for the Motorola v120e:
bleh.
Another phone that I've owned at one time. It was my first, it was crap. I bought it when I was young and stupid. I thought it was the greatest thing ever until I started using other phones... only then did I realize just how bad it was. Battery life was OK... not great, but it was rarely away from a charger for long. Reception was bad in comparison to many other phones.

for the Nokia 3589i / 3587i:
Good reception... that's about it.
I had this phone for a time a few years ago. For someone needing a phone to be a phone only, these aren't a bad thing to get ahold of. Anyone who likes features, just stay away. This phone annoyed the crap out of me because every time it was dropped even a short distance the faceplate and battery cover (along with the battery) would go flying in all directions. Embarassing in public to say ...

for the Motorola V170 / V171 / V173:
Decent, average phone.
I purchased this phone (the v173) as a prepaid for my gf. It works well for what is - at the price these go for of course, you can't expect miracles out of it. Yes, the screen is small - however when you dial the numbers are blown up to a very large size so that even the more visually challenged people should have no problem reading them. It's no amazing bear-trap for reception - but ...
