Re: Ugh...
Hmm...I guess I didn't think about that. If true, I suppose I can forgive them. Looks like the article was updated with Sprint's plans. Time to compare. :)
Ugh...
...Sprint...are you kidding me right now? One of the largest phone unveilings of the year, and you're MIA????
Hope this gets updated quickly.
Re: ALL major US carriers? Or...?
Great! Looking forward to an update on this! Thanks Rich!
ALL major US carriers? Or...?
Any word if this is heading to ALL major US carriers? Or, is one lucky carrier going to have an exclusive on it? Or...GSM only? CDMA only?
Re: Small 2nd screen
Thank you for your reply. And, yes...you're correct. More specs have been published since my initial post stating that the "main display" is 5.7", while the 2nd display has its own measurement.
Cheers!
Small 2nd screen
I'm curious...is the 2nd screen considered part of the overall display's measurement of 5.7"? Or, is the main display (1st screen) actually 5.7" alone without the 2nd display?
GSM only?
The only specs I've been able to find on this phone - which are NOT posted far and wide - details this phone as being GSM.
Anyone know if a CDMA version is in the works as well?
Re: LTE model question...
Awesome! Thanks for the info, I appreciate it! 8)
Re: LTE model question...
Interesting.
So, the purpose of 2 different units is so that one can be purchased and used with AT&T, instead of T-Mo?
Thanks for the info BTW! :D
Re: LTE model question...
I see.
Doesn't T-Mo offer HSPA+ as well?
LTE model question...
For anyone savvy in this area of tech...
For the Xperia Z Ultra - what's the purpose of an LTE only model? Does this mean it can be purchased and programmed for a CDMA carrier like Verizon or Sprint? If so, I assume this would mean it would only function (for voice? data?) when in a 4G area, is that right? Only other option would be wi-fi for data?
I'm not sure if my assumptions are correct, but whether yes or ...
Re: Great Article
I agree...great article & makes sense!
Can't believe some of the hater's responses. Can't reach 'em all evidently. 8)
Great article
Very interesting...thanks Eric!
I was a little dismayed with the statement & roadmap graphic that shows/states "...phablet by mid 2013". I was (& still am) hoping that we'd see that by year's end. Oh well...either way, I'll be here (w/Sprint) whenever it arrives. I'm not leavin'! 8)
Another great Note sale option...
...would be if Sprint were to "sell" the Galaxy "Note" II if we can get Sammy to build a CDMA version.
Multi-carrier spread FTW 8)
I'm (not so) patiently waiting... /;|
Re: ????????????????
Agreed, and thank you! 8)
To all the haters...
...I commend Dan for this decision. Sprint new it'd be a few years before this deal started to work in their favor. However, I'm sure they didn't expect to have their CEO have to take a pay cut to help absorb the initial blow of this deal. I feel it was a good and responsible move on his part.
To all the haters who keep saying "This will be the downfall of Sprint..." - people have been saying that ...
Re: "I made no STRONG accusation or claim" - Huh?
Umm...no. I simply "speculated" with info I already had on an article that didn't detail the info I was curious about. Incidentally, my speculation was incorrect, and I admitted to that. Why you hatin'? 8)
Re: I call B.S. on this one!
WHEW!!! Thanks! I was startin' to get worried about the reading comprehension rate of adults in this country!
Re: "I made no STRONG accusation or claim" - Huh?
Oops! It was "attrep42" that corrected my speculation...not you. My bad!
For the haters....a simple Google search

Re: I call B.S. on this one!
LOL...of course they do! My point was to AT&T donating to Dems's "now" (as in not just to conservatives). I was NOT suggesting that Dem's have finally caved to accepting corporate donations! Anyone who's got their finger on the political pulse in this country knows that! However, there's more info & media surrounding AT&T donations given to conservatives, than Dems.
Re: I call B.S. on this one!
Easy Tiger. Perhaps try and read within the context of the post? Facts are straight as I presented them. Wouldn't be at all surprising that AT&T would spend $$$ on both sides of the aisle. But, there's more info & media surrounding AT&T donations given to conservatives, than Dems.
Re: "I made no STRONG accusation or claim" - Huh?
"I'd love to know..."
"...there just might be..."
"Sounds like..."
= Speculation
"...(Republican)..."
= loose accusation
"...AT&T donates A LOT of money to conservative politicians..."
= Fact
Strong speculation that ended up being incorrect, thanks to your added info. But, not strong accusation or claim. Make sense?
Re: I call B.S. on this one!
Well, if you reread my comment...you'll notice that I made no STRONG accusation or claim, but speculated on information that is readily available to the public. It's no secret that VZW and AT&T donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to conservative politicians.
Interesting that the House members were all Dem's...perhaps they're receiving donations now too. Curious & scary.
I call B.S. on this one!
I'd love to know which (Republican) House members are writing the President in support of the merger. Since AT&T donates A LOT of money to conservative politicians to help rally support for their own interests...it's not hard to fathom that there just might be a link between who received donations, and who is in support of the merger. Sounds like AT&T has finally requested to make a withdrawal on their earlier "political deposits". Ridiculous.
Oh...& domestic job creation???? Give me ...
Issues after Gingerbread update?
The EVO 4G got the Gingerbread update today. Anyone else experiencing the voicemail notification icon that appeared after the update was installed, and now won't go away? I've tried rebooting, turning phone off, removing battery, task killing, and yes....called my voicemail several times to make sure I really didn't have a new voicemail. There doesn't seem to be a way to clear the notification. WTF?! /;|

Re: EVO 3D Vs Nexus S 4G
Oops! "SenseUI" not "SensuUi"!
Re: EVO 3D Vs Nexus S 4G
The specs of the EVO 3D here on PS show that the EVO 3D is also getting Android 2.3.3, is that not correct?
Also, won't the EVO 3D have a Super-LCD screen (which apparently has a better display configuration than the AMOLED's)?
Re: EVO 3D Vs Nexus S 4G
Personally, I'm more excited about the update to the SensuUI (v3.0) than the added 3D functionality. The 3D will be fun for a little while (headaches & all!) but, I'll probably rarely use it. For me and what I expect from a phone is the experience when using it. So, a phone's user interface can make it or break it for me. I really love HTC's SenseUI, so much so....that when I check out other Android or iOS phones, ...
Re: EVO or Thunderbolt?
Sorry no one has replied to your question in over a month! I'm guessing you've made your decision by now?
If not, do you know if you have 4G coverage from both carriers in your area as well?

Re: Memory
Excellent! And, about time!
Re: Memory
Great, thanks for the info Rich!
Any idea of whether the screen is 16, 18, or 24-bit?
Thanks again! 8)
Re: A couple questions on specs...
Thanks Dakidobf! 8)
A couple questions on specs...
Storage: This PS article states the EVO 3D comes with 8GB of on-board storage, expandable to 32GB. The PS specs state that it has 4GB of memory, and comes with an 8GB microSD card. HTC's website states that it comes with 1GB of internal storage, and 1GB of RAM (but, also includes a footnote). Not sure which is correct, or if perhaps they're all somehow correct. Can someone help clear this up for me?
Screen: I can't find any info ...
Re: No kickstand...
Yeah...I was hoping that maybe HTC will surprise us with a kickstand after all. If we're lucky. :)
Re: No kickstand...
That sucks! And I agree...doesn't make sense being that the EVO's is nearly flush with the back. Weird.
Re: Sprints always been good at this...
OIC...thanks for the clarification!
No kickstand...
...bummer. Many saw this as a mere gimmick. But, I actually found it quite functional.
Bummer.
Re: Sprints always been good at this...
Hmm...I'm not sure I understand your comment. To help me out, can you give an example of a handset that has style AND substance? Also, can you explain how the EVO 3D is an example of "not committing to things"?
