Re: couple quick questions...
Here's what I know:
**Keypad color lights up in blue.
**Haven't seen a "buddy" yet.
**Screen savers I've seen--that are not themes--include "chess," "sprint" logo, "Bora Bora" animation, "cyber" animation and "aqua bubbles," which is also an animated screen.
Hope that helps.
Re: How's the recpetion?
I bought this phone yesterday morning and must agree that reception is superb. I'm coming from a Samsung A900 and Samsung Upstage. I work in the city, but live in an outlying, fringe area. (You know, the type of location where you must talk only in one room and make sure your head is tilted to the window? :D) Anyway, I've been able to get a solid signal in every room of my house ...
Re: Anyone got any questions?
Thanks for the honest review. I was trying to decide between the Muziq and the DLX and after reading your comments and a few on a Sprint forum, I think you've helped to make up my mind.
Thanks again!
Re: Anyone got any questions?
How's the reception and ear piece quality?
Re: New ringtones
You can upload ringtones to your phone here: http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/index.php
Re: error code 97
I've never had this issue with my Upstage, but have had it this week with my Treo. According the Sprint rep I spoke with, "Error Code 97 means sign in failed and is related to the network."
Re: upstage on ebay: invalid ESN
It's my understanding that yes, you are correct. The problem isn't with Samsung or Sprint, but the unpaid bill. If you paid via PayPal with a credit card, you can do a chargeback legally and reclaim your funds. For your sake, I hope that's the case.
Best of luck!
Re: Recording longer than 1 minute
I haven't found a way around this. I have not been able to record a voice memo anywhere other than in the phone's internal memory.
Re: Sprint Music Manager for MAC?
I don't see a MAC release on the Sprint site at all. (http://musicmanager.sprint.com/choose_phone. php)
The music manager software isn't the greatest. As I'm sure you've read already, it's easier to drop your files into your phone using the USB cord.
Re: speakerphone/mic set
The Upstage comes with a headset adapter, which has a microphone built-in, as you stated. There are no ear buds included in the box, so you'll need to pick up a pair on your own.
To use the mic/adapter, just plug it it to your charging port. As you likely figured out already, you won't be able to hear anything unless you already have ear buds attached too.
Re: Upsatge Question (s)
Hi.
1. You can read text messages on either the large MP3 side screen or the small one. (You have to reply/text back on the small one.) It's not difficult to see text on the small screen, which is also something I was worried about before getting this phone.
2. The ringers are ascending, meaning that they start at a lower volume and get louder with each ring.
Re: Music loading realllllly slow???
Make sure you format your card for Windows. I had the same trouble originally, but after reading about it elsewhere and reformatting the card properly (with a PC, not the phone), my music plays as it should.
Re: Anybody have a hack ?
I've read on another forum that you cannot.
Re: upstage VS sanyo m1
I've had both. I currently sport the Upstage and prefer it for the following reasons:
**It's smaller, sleeker and easier to tote around.
**No SD port with the M1.
**Bluetooth works for me with the Upstage, where I had constant issues with the M1.
When in doubt, try it out for yourself. They're both decent phones.
Re: Thinking about switching to m610
Hi.
I've had both phones and currently sport the 620. For me, the music quality is slightly better with the latter phone. Like you, I prefer clamshell units, but have found myself appreciating the 620 more than I did the 610. (This is personal preference really.) My 610 suffered some crackling noises with music and the volume seemed to fluctuate. I'm not sure if this was only my unit or not, so you may want ...
Re: Off subject...
I've used the wallet at home, but don't generally drag it around with me. I've made it through many days without needing the wallet or a charge..but it really depends on what you're using your phone for.
Re: Speaker
I've owned the Katana and an M610. I am a business class user who (strangely enough) ended up with an Upstage. By comparison, I really prefer the Upstage to the Katana and the 610. I'm quite happy with the speaker quality and the other features..
Good luck with your decision!
Re: Vibration?
Works great for me. The Upstage has a strong vibration, but not one that will scare the life out of you when you aren't expecting it. :D
