Can't handle YouTube
Sep 8, 2013, 1:10 AM
in the Samsung Galaxy S 4 (Verizon / Sprint) forum

When I go to the youtube webpage in the browser the S4 just can't handle it. The pages lag, it freezes, you can't respond to comments, etc. When I do this on my iPhone5 or my son's motorola this problem does not exist. Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?

Re: Evo Hard Case opinions

I first had one of the snap on covers from the S[rint store. The black one with the grey textured back. I did not like how big of a pain it was to take off if you had to reboot your phone. Then I bought the Seidio Innocase. I am on my second one. The first one became very loose and rattle prone after about a week and the second one is doing the same thing.

There is no way anyone cod call me an Apple hater. I own more Apple products than the vast majority of people and all someone needs to do is read my past reviews of previous iPhone tosses how loyal an iPhone owner/supporter I have been...but, have to agree with people that say the iPhone 4 is outdated. The only new additions that are really worth.mentioning are the camera and build materials. They definitely.made it a better camera and really ...

They are both such strong devices that it is very hard to choose between them. One is such and awesome web experience and the other is an amazing camera and music player...and they both do everything well outside these specific strengths. The decision was made for me by the crappy AT&T service locally and how Apple is handling current issues.

Re: How is the call quality?

in the Apple iPhone 4 (GSM) forum

if you are coming from Verizon you will most likely be disappointed with call quality. In most areas AT&T suffers from unsteady connections, poor sound quality, and dropped calls. As far as the iphone itself is concerned, we are all aware with the issue with the dropped calls and how to hold it. The earpiece is also very low. I cannot hear it in the car or in a restaurant if there is much background noise.

Why do you assume people do not own both? With 30 day free trials it costs nothing to own both phones at the same time. I have had both for awhile now. I will be canceling AT&T and staying with Sprint this coming monday. Wanted to be sure I was not staying with the iPhone before porting my numbers.

DO NOT INSTALL UPDATE!!!
Jun 28, 2010, 8:16 PM
in the HTC EVO 4G forum

The update is bricking phones left and right. I just got off the line with tech support and they have confirmed a flaw in the update software. They say they have pulled it's availability in most markets but it still might be out there for some people. DO NOT INSTALL IT!

Once again you post propaganda from online reports. Let's see a link to a test showing thwiPhonewinning a speed test. There are dozens on YouTube showing EVO win them.

Just read the reports from gizmodo another sources that slate the limited launch for 2011 with no major coverage until much later...and even then the system will still be the same overloaded on it is now.

I am currently on my 15th hour on my EVO today I have made a couple hours of calls, checked mail a day, browsed the web quite a bit on 3G, and taken a few pics.

That is where we differ because I am definitely saying you are wrong. All you have to do is look up any speed test on the net and you will see the EVO winning the vast majority of the time (both on WiFi and on 3G). Your own personal lack of research (or lack of desire to find the truth) does not relieve you of the burden of proving your claims. Especially when you give no evidence byond vaguely written statements ...

No, it won't...they keep restating the date and the stock report estimates say 2012.

And that is an adsolute lie which is easily dispelled with only a small bit of research. Yet you chose to repeat it instead of learn that it is untrue. That speaks volumes to your credibility.

If you have been happy with the camera on the iPhone 3G you will still be better off with the EVO4G. It will be far better at social networking and the camera is still better than the iPhone 3g. It is just not as good as the one on the iPhone 4. I am still managing to get very good videos and pics from my EVO after tweeking the adjustable settings...but I am pretty familiar with cameras. It still ...

Sprint's 4G is much faster NOW. Maybe AT&T will be faster in two years...and if it is I will switch to AT&T. I make my decisions based on current facts...not hopes and prejudices. I held onto my iPhone and defended it for as long as I felt it was the best phone on the market. It just happens that this is not currently the case at the moment. The iPhone 4 is nothing new or revolutionary and it ...

How does what will be happening in a couple years effect what a person buys now? Especially in a market where a person regularly changes their technological toys. If AT&T rolls out a faster service in 2012 (as they estimate) I will go back to them, but I will not allow promises of future gains decide how I do things now.

One of the fastest but not the fastest. You simply have to look at side by side tests to find that out. I guess you would prefer to remain willfully ignorant if it suits your need to support Apple. In some ways a new standard has been set by this phone. Camera and quality of build are two of those standards. Speed and performance are not.

Actually, that is not always true. I am a long time iPhone user and I made the switch to EVO easily. I actually prefer it. Of course I am not a gamer and use my phone more as an internet device than anything else. I tried to use my new iPhone 4 yesterday after I picked it up and cannot go back to the small screen. I felt like I was trying to type on a postage stamp.

Easily, all you have to do is perform real world tests for yourself or watch the ones on the net. You can also read all the spec reviews that indicate facts contrary to his post. He took one vague statement from one review and distorted it beyond belief.

I have to agree that I cannot see how someone could not like the design of this phone. It is easily the most finely crafted cell phone, if not the most finely crafted piece of electronics period, on the market today.

Man, do you ever get tired of posting this same deceitful post. It is wrong on almost every topic,

Does anyone else find it strange that there is still no review section for this phone?
Jun 25, 2010, 6:43 PM

I know I sure do. It is almost like they do not want all the initials bugs to factor into the reviews of the device. It is almost like Apple is being given a free pass.

That still does not say it loads faster than the EVO, and you will have to ignore every side by side test on the net to pretend it does.

Re: conflicted....

Your post is misleading. The iPhone is NOT faster than the EVO 4G in any way. Every real world test showing on the net right now disputes your claim. I also get the smae battery life out of my EVO that I did my iPhone 3GS. The only real advantages the iPhone has over the EVO is it's amazing camera, it's amazing screen resolution, and a smoother touch interface. I would aslo call the build quality an advantage since the ...

Before I just gave my own general impression as to which phone is better. Now I will cover a couple more specific catagories. Camera- iPhone 4 seems to blow the EVO 4G away. Apps- Apple has more apps but Android is catching up and has more open developement Reception- I get better reception with the EVO so far, but that depends on your area. Browser- both have good browsers but the EVO is a small bit better and supports Flash...not to mention the ...

I just had to make the same decision you are making. Stick with AT&T and buy an iPhone 4 or switch to Sprint for the EVO 4G. I decided to give the EVO a test run. After the first few days I was about to return the EVO because of the battery life but then I read about how to deal with that issue and then I really fell in love with it. When I did go back to ...

Changed my mind...Keeping the EVO 4G
Jun 17, 2010, 1:11 AM
in the HTC EVO 4G forum

Well, cll me wishy-washy but I have changed my mind about returning my EVO to get an iPhone 4. There are two main reasons. 1. I have fallen in love with the EVO. The speed on 4G is amazing, the screen is unbeatable (that extra size really takes web browsing on a cell phone to a whole new level), and the device is just so customizable. I also love the fact that it currently has Flight Lite and will hopefully have ...

You must have just scanned through the post and misunderstood what I am saying. If you pay attention to the part where I say "I am going to be returning the EVO 4G on monday and ordering the iPhone 4 on tuesday." you will understand a bit better. I am returning the EVO, not the iPhone. I will order the iPhone tuesday...which is the 15th. :)

Well, after whining on here that I could not decide whether to buy the new iPhone 4 and renew my AT&T contract or go to Sprint for the new EVO I took the advice of fellow forum members and purchased an HTC EVO 4G from Sprint. That does not constitute "hands free" dialing. If you have to physically take your phone out and push a button it does not count at all.
