I am well aware of what an oligopoly is, and believe that it is the consumers have driven the industry to that state. Give me a business model that pleases consumers (at least to the point they are pleased with the current model), isn't an oligopoly, and actually works. I am not arguing for consolidation, I am arguing that businesses following trends set by larger businesses has nothing to do with consolidation, it takes place in every industry, it ...

No, my point was that this change being twisted into an argument against the AT&T/T-Mobile merger is ridiculous and has nothing to do with "market concentration". (this is me paraphrasing what I said in my initial post for you) You would think that people who are upset about "market concentration" would be a little more receptive to a move which puts a wireless company, which has been hurting a bit lately, in line with it's competition and does so while ...

Your right, if people dislike Sprint for getting rid of their 30 day return policy they could/could've gone to T-Mobile. Oh, wait, T-Mobile had a 15 day return policy before any other major carrier. Never mind, that must have been that innovative part of their business since AT&T is the only major carrier who still has a 30 return policy... Sorry, I just had to come and stifle your pressing forward with "logical notations" on your "opinions" on how the ...

...the difference between a Sprint owned MVNO and Sprint you should consider no longer posting on this website in an attempt to argue anything. Also, the car analogy doesn't work either. Maybe just stick with the phrase, "you get what you pay for"? Now don't get me wrong, I am actually pro-merger, but I am simply asking you to stop talking because you are making us look bad...

Exactly! Did everyone forget when Sprint suddenly decided that customers who wanted a smart phone had to pay a "premium data" charge that was originally a "4G data charge"? All the customers coming in and upgrading from one smart phone to another suddenly had their bill go up by $10 per smart phone device! No merger there, also no one was "forced" to upgrade. If you don't wasn't to agree to the terms and the 2 year contract, then ...

Yes, they are losing money, and the "Value Plans" are a last ditch attempt at stopping some of the bleeding. Look into it. They will allow customers a discounted rate on service if they buy the phone outright or have thier own device. Why? Because they are making profit right out the door on that customer instead of having to recoupe the cost of the handset. Do some research on the subject of subsidized handsets. Seriously, if us Americans ...

You're wrong about that. The cost of the phone is subsidized over the 2 year contract. I think it takes a carrier about 16 months to recoupe the cost of the phone, but I am just going off of memory, so don't quote me. Either way, T-Mobiles value plans are proof.

So, RadioShack in your area sucks, where I am at we at RS are king. Other third party dealers are shady, screw over the customer, then screw over their employees worse. I recruit ones with talent, and have never had one leave me to go back. Corporate stores vary, from good (AT&T) to terrible (Sprint), but either way it's part of the game. Pricing, yea we got that, but what we don't have is every customer coming through our ...

Ok, so I have already shown you to be a half-wit, and we all know you are pretty opinionated, but at this point you are no longer being constructive. Do you realize different people have different preferences, needs, tastes, and even budgets? I hate to break this to you, but I think the Backflip is a much sleeker phone than your beloved and incredibly out of date N95-3. You keep on talking about anything you buy has to be ...

Yes, any phone that can receive WCDMA in the 850/1900 mhz band and is unlocked has the ability too utilize AT&T's 3G service, but that doesn't mean it will "Have" AT&T's 3G service. It will still require an AT&T sim card and service. Got my point now? That's great, I am glad you feel free, when I want to feel free I just don't wear any pants. Do you know the term "churn" in reference ...

First of all, I much like you, use an unlocked Nokia handset, and it works great for me, but for others unlocked devices may not be the best option. Also, none of Nokia's unlocked handsets have AT&T 3G, they simply have the ability to pick up the frequency that AT&T transmits their 3G service on, and the sim card tells the phone what to search for. And, every time you put your sim card in a device and it ...

Do some research on the E71 vs. E71x, I would guess they would leave the wifi, but that the os would suffer with "bloatware" and other restrictions. I don't see att picking up the E72 anyways, so I wouldn't get to excited. Me, I'm happy with my unlocked E71 for now, but maybe an upgrade will come with tax returns...
