Based on the picture and the Pythagorean theorem, the size of this phone is 1.87 * 3.61 inches, or 48 * 92 mm.
The Apple phone is 4.5 * 2.4 inches. That means the face of the Samsung is 38% smaller than the iPhone... very pocketable... unless the width is ridiculous I'd much rather own the Samsung...
Re: Does not support 4gb sd cards
Dude, I was in the same boat as you a couple weeks ago. I read all the reviews and saw all the web sites. I ordered a 4GB card. It didn't work. I formatted it as FAT32 and FAT16 with 64k sectors. Neither one worked. The phone couldn't even format the card as a 2GB card. Now I have this 4GB card that I'm trying to sell and nobody is buying. Save yourself some time and money and just ...
Re: Only drives headphones?? Can this be true?!?!
Phones use the wire in the headphones as an antenna for the radio. So far I haven't seen a phone that lets you use the radio w/o plugging in headphones.
What stereo systems have you plugged your phone into? I have some Altec Lansing computer speakers and it doesn't work with those, and I have a Sony home theater receiver with a RCA-to-3.5mm cable that I bought and it doesn't work with that either. My old 64 MB flash MP3 ...
Re: Does not support 4gb sd cards
I know, that's the review I read that encouraged me to buy a 4 GB card for the phone, but it doesn't work regardless of how it's formatted (FAT16 or FAT32). Now I'm stuck with a 4 GB SD card that I'm trying to sell. I wrote an email to the review's author suggesting that she update the review but apparently she hasn't done so yet.
Only drives headphones?? Can this be true?!?!
I haven't been using my ROKR E2 as an MP3 player yet because I don't have a "big enough" SD card (it arrives tomorrow) but last night I plugged the phone into my stereo to amuse myself, and IT DIDN'T WORK!!! It just played the songs through the speakerphone. Then I tried plugging it into my computer speakers and that didn't work either! Then I did some googling and found this:

To our surprise and horror, the Rokr punted when ...

Blech. E3 is ugly, ~30% bigger, ~20% heavier, and takes miniSD, which doesn't even go up to 4gb yet. No thanks.
Re: Flashing Red Icon during charge?
The battery indicator is BS.
I can plug in my phone, wait for it to charge completely, plug it in again 5 minutes later, and then it reads empty.
I don't trust the indicator when it's not plugged in either... my phone was showing a full battery two days ago and then the battery completely died during a conversation 2 minutes later.
Re: Does not support 4gb sd cards
Yeah, the phone asks me if I want to format the card, then it says the size is 0 in an information screen before formatting (can't be good), then it says there was an error formatting.
I tried formatting the card with FAT16 and 64k sectors from the DOS command line but the phone couldn't deal with that either.
Motorola has fallen down here IMO. How hard would it have been to release a phone that supports 4gb (FAT16 *or* FAT32). ...
Does not support 4gb sd cards
The review on OSNews (?) said that it did, but I just got my mail order 4gb card and it doesn't work. Hopefully somebody will buy it on craigslist.
Battery model number?
I bought this phone on eBay but the seller forgot to include the battery somehow. (?!?!?!) Does anybody know how to get a battery for this thing in the US? I can't find information about the battery model number in the manual. I might just go to a Cingular store tomorrow and see if they have anything that looks compatible but I'm not holding out hope. How depressing.
Aside: I read one review online about how the phone theoretically supports ...
