A good phone! Very Happy with it! But i think the phone could have a better stly! It is abit 2 bulky! and not very stylish!

Great Phone and Much More!

PROS:
Incredible! The Sony/Ericsson W600I is a Walkman with MP3 ability AND an FM Radio!
You can download your address book & appt. calendar w/reminders from you PC. It gives you access to your e-mails and favorite web pages. It has a camera w/video capability. You can Instant Message. Plays games. Easy to use with one hand. And, it's also a great phone too! It's Blue Tooth compatible - a big plus.

CONS:
You need a special adapter from Sony/Ericsson to plug in headphones. It comes with the phone when you buy it, but you may want to buy an extra.
The external speakers work well, but if you want loud quality sound for tunes, buy a boom box.

OVERALL:
GREAT PHONE!!!
It has every feature I wanted and more!

Great phone

This is a great phone, only 2 complaints. The switchblade style opening is kinda a pain and there is no rewind, fastforward, etc on the video player simply start and stop.

Stopping a video means you must start from the beginning again not fun if you are watching a long video and need to pause.

Otherwise this is pretty much the perfect phone though if I had the money I woulda sprung for the 810 with the memory slot :-\ Life goes on.

I love Sony

Pros...Just to start the interface and the menu system is great, very user friendly and attractive, there is even an info button for allot of the selections to help you understand the phone. The overall design of the phone is comfortable, good button usage, and the sliding lock button is pretty cool. The fun factor with this phone is really the selling point, video editor, photo editor, horizontal gaming feature with graphics like my gameboy advance, an mp3 player that is very user friendly, this phone is a Rokr replacement and I love itunes but the walkmen phone software really works well. Great digital camera, 1.3mp, flash, and a horizontal feature that makes it look and feel like a real camera. Good battery life, even has a percentage meter. Very loud speaker.

Cons...To start out I searched long and hard for a new phone, so this is what I wished it would of had....First off more memory 256mb for music, software, pics..not enough, and to not fix the problem with removable memory...bad sony. A 2mp camera would have been nice. Does not work with my mac...big no no...still considering returning the phone for that reason. I do have access to a pc, and the sony software is not my favorite, there is a weird glitch where you have to restart the program every time you load a new cd to transfer music (what the F**k sony not enough money to do a little RD on software). Speaker quality although loud, is ok, not good, listen to a ROKR and you will be amazed at the sound quality, maybe I was spoiled.

All and all a wonderful phone that does everything, I can leave my Ipod and my digital camera at home when going out, or just during your average day. I still use both my ipod and a digital camera because the phone is by no way a replacement, but a smaller more convenient substitute for everyday use definitely.

IT'S NO UPGRADE, BUT NO DOWNGRADE.

As i have left and read many reviews i've come to notice that one users views and experiences might be very different from anothers. example the battery life on my w600i sucks but the battery life on yours may be the best. unless its a common problem review after review then only do we know if its a problem with the phone or not.

so with that said here is my user experience:

first i didn't want the phone because it in my opinion is not an upgrade to the se s710a (lockline sent me this, after telling me the had more s710a's available). it is however a more fun phone to have around. losing the qvga screen was not a problem but the size of it sucks. the phone is far different than the s710a in apperance. in my opinon th w600i is fun, the s710a is business.

here are my pros:

sony walkman music player set up. its one of the best i'v seen yet of any phone, mp3 player, or phone/mp3 combo.

bluetooth. the headset to phone part is great. i dont know if i got a bummed phone or not but obex on mine doesn't work. when trying to tap into other bluetooth obex phones.

1.3 mp camera. its crappy in comparison to the s710 but it has alot of fun features like the video and photo dj.

stereo sound. the headset that comes with the phone is strange but sounds good if you shove them in your ear canal.

html web browsing capable.

gaming in 3d landscape mode. this is awesome it even has gaming buttons.

custom faceplates. i even found a site you can put you own pics on a w600i faceplate.
fm radio.

here are my cons:

battery life sucks. maybe a full day if i'm lucky and i haven't listend to the 2 songs i have on the phone.

games and apps all demo's.

screen isnt big enough for a phone of this caliber.

buttons are set into the kepad making it hard to dial without looking.

no lens shutter over the camera lens and night photo's suck.

my experince using this phone isn't that bad but in no way is it an upgrade to the s710a.
thanks SE.

amazing sound but complicated menu

i'll start this review on a positive note. the build quality is like a japanese manufactured acura, amazing.the sound quality both for phone calls and music unheard of from a phone, simply amazing. the fit and finish quality is superb.i love most things about this phone, but i will be returning it tomorrow after only having it for a few days. the reason: i've been spoiled by nokia. having owned to many to remember, going back to about 1992.i have never read a nokia owners manual because there is no reason to do so, with the sonyericsson w600i i find myself constntly going back to the manual, and it does not help much if at all.if i were 12 years old i'm sure i'd love to spend 3 hours a day learnig it.it pains me because i love the sony, but i'm not prepared to invest the time to learn it. to sum it up if you're a gadget freak buy it, you will love it. if you do not have a high level of patience for learning these things, look elsewhere.

love this phone

AWESOME Phone!!!!!!! Only Missing a memory card slot.

This Phone is the best phone i have ever had. Everything about it is Awesome except for the lack of the memory card slot. But that is not that big of a deal for me.

I LOVE my W600i

Every thing you could want in a phone, from a speaker to video, and even an MP3... you have 5 speakers on it, its mega LOUD!!!

WOULD BE GREATEST PHONE, BUT LACKS A MEMORY SLOT.

Jul 2, 2006 by CHIL3

If you have only 50 favorite songs. Then this is the phone for you. But for me and many other people because this phone lacks a memory slot
it's not the greatest phone that it has the potential to be. If this phone had a memory slot you would never need to walk around with both a mp3 and a phone again. I recommend the RAZR V3I. It has everything the W600 has and it has a memory slot.
