the RAZR HD is one Helluva Dope phone

Nov 4, 2012 by cnoevo8   updated May 4, 2013

I am continuing to be impressed with Motorola smartphones. it started wit the X, then the Photon, (which I still have with Sprint) next I had the RAZR, then the RAZR MAXX, and now the ultimate RAZR HD.

this phone has almost as much battery life as my previous MAXX, but in a thinner and better looking design -with a BIGGER screen!

I love the new MOTO overlay on the ICS, and the extra features of the phone.

PROS: screen size & resolution
new design with excellent fit and finish
better wifi signal and radio signal than previous RAZR
color choices
Moto software
improved camera in every way
new circle feature on homes creen
more home screens available and better customization
great 4g or 3g service with Verizon

CONS: wish the screen would have been wider to make the 4.7" instead of taller without making the phone wider (using the RAZR M full screen technology)
wish it would have been released with a quad core
no dedicated camera button
why come out with a MAXX when you've got this?

all in all it is the best smartphone I have owned to date. Iphone who??

Not the prettiest but still good.

The RAZA HD by no means will win a beauty contest. But it's Droid I keep coming back to. The size is great not too big not too small. Used the Droid DNA and I'm constantly adjusting the phone within my hand. Also good for the RAZR HD for having the power button on the side and not on top, this greatly helps one handed operation. Also I prefer the USB port on the side rather than the bottom.
The retro notification LED is a nice touch to. And this is one phone I'm not worried by not using a case with it.

Undecided since mine is a problem!

Apr 19, 2013 by artist elaine   updated May 3, 2013

I have had this phone for 2 1/2 months now and I love some features on it and was happy with the phone for the first 1 1/2 months. At that point, just sitting in my living room, the phone "fried" my SD card-completely destroyed it without being used at all and all data on it is unrecoverable. I now know this is a known problem with Android smart phones and not just Motorola, but no one seems to be willing to even acknowledge it, let alone fix it! Also, my touch screen is unresponsive about half the time-and works fine the rest. So now, I'm waiting to receive a replacement but they are currently unavailable and I can only hope that the new one will actually work since I'm under contract with this phone for almost 2 more years!

Pros: 1.Photos are much better than they were with my Motorola Droid X and as good as they are taken with my digital camera, so I'm happy with the camera.
2. Sound quality is as good or better than any cell phone I've owned.
3. Easy to use, looks good and is easy to hold on to.
4. Reasonable price.
5. Decent battery life.
6. Easy set-up.

Cons: 1. Verizon's bloatware! Comes with all kinds of apps that cannot be removed, most of which I have no interest in at all!
2. Touch screen may become unresponsive, thereby rendering the phone nothing but a paper weight!
3. No dedicated camera button!
4. May destroy your SD card and you will lose any information on it!
5. Does not sync with computer, so I still have yet to find a way to save my photos, ringtones, etc. There is one program that can be downloaded for that, but I haven't tried it because when I was downloading it, my virus software warned me there was a 90% chance it was a destructive program! So, how do I regularly save my info? Well, I can PAY Verizon to sync my photos and music, which used to be FREE, but I am undecided about that still because the monthly fee is so high already. Or I can email everything to myself regularly, which takes forever and is a pain!

This phone is going to get overlooked and shouldn't

I have only had this phone for a few days and I am extremely impressed. I switched from Sprint's Samsung Galaxy S2 and am glad I did. The service in my area with Verizon is 100 times better than Sprint will ever be and I didn't think that was possible.

The build on this phone is near perfect. It's solid, feels durable, and smooth. I am not a fan of the Iphone however the quality build of this phone reminds me of the Iphone. One thing I am thrown off by the build of this phone is the actual display size. There is a big gap between the edges and bottom. I am not sure why Motorola didn't make use of the display in full giving us more screen display.

The battery life is amazing. Have been running multiple apps, browsers, data, basically using the battery and it still lasts me over 8 hours.

One thing that is extremely annoying is 4g lte. For some reason sometimes even though it never switched to 3g 4g stops working. You either have to turn off the phone and back on or turn on airplane mode then back off to fix it.

I am ok with not being able to remove the battery however what I am not ok with is the phone locking up and there's nothing you can do till the phone decides on what it's going to do. Can't reboot, lock and unlock screen, reset. etc. This has only happened 2 times however I hope it doesn't become a habit.

The call quality to me is really good. People keep telling me my voice sounds muffled and need to talk into the phone. I am not sure what's going on here. I am going to try a factory reset. If that doesn't fix it then I may have just got a bad apple.

Overall this phone is stunning. I would definitely get this phone. It was really between this or the Samsung Galaxy S3 for me and I don't regret picking this phone whatsoever.
