REALLY LIKE THIS PHONE

Jun 16, 2007 by mike_mn

I bought this phone in late March 2007 to replace my LG phone. At first I dind't like the look of this phone - was a little different styling from what I was use to - however I now really do like the look of the phone - the black with silver trim differentiates it from so many of the all silver phones out there.

Having no external antenna was also a concern for me - but this phone gets better receptoin without the external antenna than my old phones which did.

The screen also have excellent resolution - I'm into photography, so I hate bad resolution - and this phone really excels witht the screen - it's very nice.

While this phone has 1gb of space of music - i'm not really into that so have not put any on the phone.

The menu structure is nice and intuative - no issues there for me. The buttons are nice to use also - just the right size.

Battery life it good, I do use the extended life battery and get get 2-3 days of use easily with regular use and game playing on it - withouth the game playing I'd get much more life from it.

The camera is also excellent - everyone who sees the photos taken are really impressed iwht the quality of the pictures from this phone.

The external speakers are also very nice - two speakers on the front of hte phone provide very good sound when using the speaker phone.

Overall - it's an excellent phone and no regrets buying this phone.

Reversed Evolution.....

After owning the Sanyo MM5600 for 2 years I decided to upgrade my phone to the Sanyo M1, Bad Move.I’ll start off with the negative factors of the M1. The internal antenna is located just above the camera lens area of this phone, or the top portion of the bottom halve of this phone, if you hold the phone in a more comfortable position you block your signal, so in essence your forced to hold the phone by the lower key pad area, which increases your chances of having the phone slip out of your hand,I got this M1 due to its nice bulk size which I though would allow me to hold it without the fear dropping it. Input signal has always been bad for me in upstate NY, whereas the 5600 held a respectable signal with its external rod. And here's my main negatives. The music I transferred from my PC using the supplied USB cable, which were the same identical songs on the 5600, this M1 only plays one song at a time, you manually have to scroll to the next song in order to hear it,this phone does not advance to the next song in the listening order of the albums. The external I-Pod look alike control will not advance to the next song either, but it will pause, stop and fast Back/forward it.I do not purchase music or videos through sprint at there ridicules prices. But I imagine this would not be an issue with there paid for music? Every feature is basically that same as the MM5600 with the exception of Bluetooth. Yet the older Sanyo phone has better qualities and functional features then this new rendition of top of the line Sanyo. My conclusion: If you interested in using this phone as an MP3 player, dedicate your listening pleasure to be in a constant click-a-song mode.Bluetooth: I guess this would be this phones only strength, since the location of the antenna, when the phone is closed is at the optimal position. The Camera holds no real advancement with 2MP, picture are still sub-par.

Hmm Not Bad

Not a bad phone only problem I had was sending files via bluetooth and some audio problems

Pros:
great phone

Using the usb you can easily add music and other files just like your flash stick

Charges while using usb

Great sound when playing music or videos

Not a bad size

Great voice recorder

Cons:
Didn't work well with my bluetooth

If you drop it scratches easily

the silver/gray color starts to fade

GOOD FOR THE MOST PART

This phone is REALLY nice. I bought the A900 first and it SUCKED BAD!! This phone is really cool except for a few things

Pros:
Super loud stereo speakers
Nice camera with auto focus and really bright flash, video or flashlight
Frontal MP3 Controls
1GB of memory don't forget most PC's run on about a GB of memory.
Very Customizable
Comes with Data cable, and matching headphones
Headphones are loud are very loud
Ringer is very load
Internet is very fast and can a lot of pages for a non- PDA phone.
Talk and standby time is awesome
Sprint Music store is awesome
Signal strength is great, and very eady to hear

Cons:
Although it is a LOT of memory built in, it would be nice to know that you have a SD port
Will not support WMA files which the fusic does
Fingers always get in the way of the camera
Camera is good but not great
Dual media players are hard to control and move files to and from
Moving files around in general is rather pesky (because there is so many places to store things)
I don't like paying 31 bucks a month to have unlimited text and powervision and then have to part with 4 bucks a pop per month to get channels.
TV could be a bit clearer
Can't use songs as ringtones

Overall this is really cool and VERY innovative. It has all the bells and whistles and it whistles a whole lot louder than any other mp3 phone that have ever had or heard. I wish that it could support WMA files and for some reason there some files that I CANNOT delete. I bluetoothed them from my cingular when I switched, they worked then and now they don't and I can't delete them.

SOILD, STURDY ,DEPENDABLE PHONE

I've had this phone for about 3 weeks. I accidentally dropped it in the washer. It had been about 3 mintues before I realized where the phone was. The phone had been submerged in water for about 3-5 minutes. I let the phone air dry for about 3-5 days and viola!!! It works perfectly!!!!!! The music,TV, Internet, all of it works great..
If your looking for a phone that will last through anything, get this phone!!!!
I gave it a 4.5 only because the main display doesn't change automatically like my Toshiba did....

Great phone, but

Dec 19, 2006 by tkchuang72

I got the phone for about 5 days now. Feature wise it is a great phone. I had a Sanyo 8200 before, so the menu is very familiar. I love the phone, even though itis mostly plastic, it still feels solid. Although I'd have prefered teh built of Katana more. The only thing I have a problem with is the battery life. The battery would not last 24 hours on standby without the battery going down to one bar. I wonder if I have a defective battery? What is everyone else getting for their battery life? I have yet to play with the music players, the 2 Megapixel camera, and the battery is already so bad. Anyone else have a suggestion?

Great phone, bad Sprint customer service

Dec 31, 2006 by bd525

I got the phone for the camera and 1GB storage (I'm not into ringers, email, www, games, playing music, etc.). The camera seems pretty decent; I love the idea of having a camera with me all the time. The large storage means I can take as many shots as I want, but I can also use the phone for general computer file transfer/backup. Minor complaint: The phone doesn't mount on my Mac by USB. I have to use Bluetooth, which, fortunately, is quite smooth.

My main complaint isn't about the phone: not Sprint outlets in my area have the software necessary to transfer the contacts from my other phone. Lame.

eh. Its a Sanyo.

Its still a Sanyo folks. Looks like a duck, feels like a duck.

Beautiful screen. Could be bigger, I like the 1 GB internal but would like a microsd instead personally easier to switch info from phones. Phone goes bad, buh bye to all your files.

GUI is okay nothing new or spectacular, imho they need to work on there media player A LOT.

not worth it for the price
