Are 1xRT connections against ny minutes or data plan?

Ok... I am a bit confused. I made a point to ask the Sales Rep if I use MSN or the internet it would be counted against my data plan and not my minutes. She assured me it would go against my data plan. I even re-stated the question a few different ways, as I do not want to get stuck with a HUGE Bill.

I am located in NY where EVDO is available but it is barely available for more than 2 seconds on my phone.

Any advice would be a appreciated... If it does go against my minutes do I have any recourse???

Im with VZN and if I dial a local ISP its considered a phone call ....soooo my minutes get eaten up except for free weekends.

I dont have a bluetooth lan around to bypass this so I just use my edvo and get to my emails and such that way. Oh well 😡
