Don't have the phone, but I've read documentation extensively. All through the documentation there is reference to being mindful of the battery status and keeping it charged. Verizon offers additional batteries for this phone at 50% off, that brings the price down to $30/battery. The cradle that comes with the phone can charge an extra battery. I suggest you if you get the phone, you get an extra battery and possibly even a car charger if you're in your car throughout the day.

I bought the Harrier last week
(I also had the a Siemens SX 66 (Cingular's version of the phone) for about 10 days.

The Harrier uses the battery 25-50% faster than the SX 66 did .. and I bought an extra battery but was not given a discount .. gbitmgr, do you have any info on how to recieve that discount ?

I can not yet determine what may be causing the extra drainage on the Harrier battery since both phones sat on my office desk for 4 hours and did nothing but pop 1 email account every 15 minutes...

Siemens: 93% battery left

Verizon's far superior customer service and access speeds made me decide to keep the Harrier and send the Siemens back rega...

cazabra,
I'm not a Verizon rep, but here's what their literature says:

"Customers that subscribe to VZEmail with Wireless Sync are entitled to an additional battery at 50% off. The final price will be $29.99."

If suggest you call Verizon (800-922-0204) and ask about it.

I disabled the auto email check and made sure I held in the end call button to end the data call and my battery life went up 25%.

When I stay connected to the data I drain at the rate you experienced.

Yea ..
unfortunately, that is my purpose of having this phone so I don't have a choice 😳

Very curious as to why the Siemens did not have that issue though.
It worked just as hard .. or possibly harder (because the connection was 35kbps vs 100kbps) when actually bringing mail in.
