For some reason, my contact at verizon for business sales for my company knew nothing about the phone until today. So I just ordered it and it should be here tomorrow.

Yes. I have to say it is very nice. At first I was a little put off by it because of the size, it felt awkward. I'm used to small flip phones. I figured that I would give it a few days and I have grown to love the functionality (already had a PDA). This way I am forced to use the PDA part because it's my phone too!
I am using a BT250 (already had one because of the V710) and it works well. I don't have EVDO in Boston yet so I just have NationalAccess ($44 for unlimited). This comes in handy since I stream music with ShoutCast all day at work. Also, Microsoft Voice Command is a must in my opinion too (you can make calls and control everything else).
I wish the battery life was better but then again it's a pda. Waiting for my case also....

Wow, the xv6600 is not available in the phoenix market yet; I called and they said it wasn't available.

Only available through business lines for now.

Hello,
Sometimes it makes you wonder about such things, but for now patience must be applied 😉 . I am curious to know how long it would be until the are in the retail circuit. Anyway, I was hoping someone out there could assist me in finding out which device is better as far as: cost analysis, features, longevity, range, signal strength (not /reduce dropping calls when traveling),quality issues, and etc.... The choices are Audivox PPC-6600/PPC-6601/XV6600 (HTC Harrier) or the Samsung SPHI700. I am looking for the best bang for the buck. I need a PDA and good phone capabilities too, looking to send and receive email with attachments when necessary to be as mobile as possible without actually being in the office. All of your time and ...

I would choose the xv6600 to be as mobile as possible. The xv6600 has the newest windows software as well as the qwerty keyboard; which is a bulky attachment on the I700. Also, this phone has the ever so needable bluetooth technology. This will allow you to use your phone without having to put a brick so close to your ear. I don't know if the xv6600 will have a camera or not; some reports say that it will not. Who needs a vga camera anyway?
...
First, thank you for your time, attention, and feedback it is much appreciated 🙂 . Next, it does seem that the VX6600 would be a better fit 😁 . So, I am leaning more towards it. Also, touche' on the VGA comment. I agree with you...it makes better sense to get a seperate digital camera for really clear pictures 😉 . I think I'll begin looking into getting 2 VX6600: one for me and my husband too. It would be a cool suprise...just because gift...Lucky guy! May you choose to have a good day and chow for now.

I have a normal consumer line, and just purchased the unit. It will be here in a couple days. Verizon Business Services is the only ones that can ship it, but you can still call them as a consumer user and order it. I had to talk to two people to get it (the first said I had to be a business customer, and the second said it wasn't a problem). I payed $275 for the phone ($100.00 credit for 2 yr aggreement, $175.00 customer loyalty credit (I have been with Verizon for over 5 years, and spend about $130 a month with them), and another $100.00 credit for buying a voice/data device (unsure of promo name, but expires 01/31/05)). I am very excited to finally get a smaller PPC phone.

I'm new at this... How can I use the XV6600 as a modem for my laptops? Thanks, John Hook, Tampa, FL

I have received a couple emails regarding the number I called. Here it is:
18008994249
You may have to call them a couple times if you are a consumer user. They can ship it to you. I ordered mine at 4pm last Wednesday, and I had it the next morning.
The phone is pretty sweet. It does lock up from time to time, but a reset brings everything back up. In my opinion the phone is worth every penny (although the new Samsung looks really promising). I love the slide out keyboard. I have no problems typing on it, and I am able to have fast entry.

how much did you purchase this phone for if i may ask.
...
Of course you can, I ended up paying $399 because I was able to get a corporate and new every 2 discount. I figured it could handle the price because I needed a new PDA anyway. The original was $669 w/o contract, $549 with 2 year, $599 with
one year.

Is it bulky? Any pictures?
