The Storm series is in need of a complete overhaul. The refresh would have been a band aid for a device that suffers from instability. What remedy would 512Mb have served? The Storm2 256mb running considerable apps would be the same as a refresh with 512mb and the same ratio of app to storage. My Storm2 is now behaving no differently than the Original. Emails coming in (confirmed by an app called Message Peek) and Vlingo Safe Reader, only to be invisible in the email folder. My share of lockups and freezes. Two days later, they're back in the registry. No logic to that! App exception pointers which are probably device specific. There is little consistency. Its frustrating and annoying. The last thing we need is variable performance when we demand ongoing dependability.

Yesterday my phone was "falling apart" with conflicts (app deny interactions out of nowhere), and those null exceptions. After a restore from backup, its ok today. Nobody wants a dumb smart phone.

The future of Sure Press, which I happen to like, will fall upon RIM's decision to completely redesign the Storm. The 6.0 OS is not the answer. Next year you will see QNX platforms on the tablets and subsequently on BB Smt. Phones. The Storm, in a completely different footprint will re-surface as an LTE device. The internal software design must be less susceptible to corruptive failure and the hardware, stable and consistent.

I'm a patient guy and a Storm Survivor, but there are times I can't deal with this nonsense. There will be significant improvement and competition in the smart phone business in the upcoming months. Its up to RIM as to whether or not I will still be a BlackBerry user..... Rolling Eyes
