I wouldn't be concerned with the restartme kernal. There are numerous resources running in the background that do not appear in the switch-app menu. Active ones will invoke, but proprietory items such as BB Messenger, phone, and other core applications will continue to appear, regardless of how many times you try to close them.

As for OS 5.0.0.713, I am running it now on my new replacement 9550. I did not have a good experience with the OTA. My Storm2 was corrupted with a Null Pointer Java Exception and rendered virtually worthless.

I would recommend waiting for the upgrade to appear on Desktop Manager or doing without it for now. No big deal unless your Japanese! They had a big to-do about that as a prominent feature. I did not see a marked improvement from .607 and attribute the better screen click response to having a new device...Perhaps you'll have better luck with .713 OS. I did DL it from a restored Desktop Update. After some unconventional, normally inappropriate response to input that RIM is famous for (You know, illogic, inconsistent behavior), its actually working right for about an hour... Rolling Eyes
