vx8300 vs Samsung SCH-A930

I am getting a wireless phone and have been comparing these two phones. I have done quite a bit of research and feature wise, they seem nearly identical.

So I am wondering, those of you that may have done the same comparison, why did you choose the Samsung?

Features that are important to me in order are.

Primary.
1. Usability/performance as a phone. Bat life.

2. Reception/build quality.

2. Calendar/alarm/appointments. Basic PDA "like" stuff.

Secondary
3. MP3 player usability/sound quality. I am very technically proficient in this area.

4. Speaker phone.

I like the idea of an internal antennae. I would like to use blue tooth stereo headphones when I ski. I would like to be able to update the phonebook/ calendar from ...

I Send files to my 10digitnumber@vzwpix.com and doesn't work?!

I followed the MP3 ringtone post on here, put my file down below 350kb(300 to be exact) tried sending it to my phone with 10digitnumber@vzwpix.com

My phone didn't even recognize it or say it was receiving the file(i've done this countless times before but it's not working now)

Nokia bluetooth headset BH800

I got the Nokia BH800 yesterday (from http://www.newegg.com/ for $95) and it works very well so far, according to feedback I've gotten from folks on the other end. It certainly sounds very clear to me and the voice dialing and redial functions work very well too. It's nice and small and fits well into my ear - the earhook is comfortable too.
I had the Plantronics 655 for 2 weeks and it was barely OK. Folks on the other end complained of the static and sound quality, and the voice dial function was erratic.
I just hope that the BH 800 continues to work at this level - it is VERY GOOD.

Picture from 8300 is mirror image when sent to email

Does anyone else have this problem? My husband sent me some pictures from his 8300 and they are mirror images of what is really there. Wedding rings are on the right hand, signs are reversed, etc. Anyone else has the same experience or is it just his phone?

No problems with bluetooth here!

I am using a new hs850 moto headset with the new update, v03 and it works great. This headset has not disconnected from the phone for two weeks now since I paired it. The dissconnecting was my issue, the echo, "just turn the volume down". Although very little if at all with echo issues here. Happy here in SoCal.

Attn People with BT headset issues.

Lets see if we can come together here and see if the new update is doing anything to resolve the issues some of you have had with the 8300 and BT headsets.

I know v01 uses BT Lib Version Q301.01.10

We've heard that v03 adds support for stereo BT and 2gb microSD cards. Maybe the update to BT could affect performance with standard headsets.

To start maybe someone with v02 and v03 could check in the "SW Version" in the "Phone Info" menu and reply here with the BT Lib Versions and their experiences with how their headsets work compared to before the update.

Belt Clip Issues - Am I crazy?

This may sound silly, but I've now purchased two different versions of the belt clip for the 8300 from two different vendors, and BOTH do not fit properly (they not wide enough for the phone).

Now, bear with me here, because at first glance this (and maybe yours) may appear to fit: The bottom of the phone will sit properly in the holster, and the top of the phone will clip in at the top of the holster.

But my first clue was how easily the phone was to remove from the clip. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that looking top down the at the phone while in the clip, only one side of the clip is actually 'hugging' the side of the phone. The other side is pushed up against the back of the phone but not hugging (as if they built it a coup...

Which bluetooth headset for the 8300?

Can anyone make a recommendation on what you think might be the best bluetooth headset for use with the 8300. Audio clarity and volume would be my priorities.
Thx

LG 8600 software v02 approved by VZW 10/17/06

full version number is T86VZV02

I'm gonna guess that with this update approved they will launch the 8600 soon.

Software Update Question

When you upgrade to the new version of the software, do you lose your contacts, photo or anything else you have added to the phone since it was new?

More suggestions please for BT headsets

My Plantronics 655 paired well with the 8300, fits in my ear very well without a hook, incoming sounds are fine, it's wonderfully small and the buttons are fine ... BUT ... the great majority of people who hear ME says the sound is very bad.

It seems hard to determine if V.3 of the software would make a difference (I have V.1). I know several people speak well of the Plantronics 510, but it seems to be about a year behind the curve and it looks a little big.
Do any of you have suggestions for headsets that are very comfortable and work very well (esp. incoming and outgoing quality) with the 8300?
Thanks

Version 3 & Ringtones

I've ordered a LG vx8300 and I know it has version 3, that means I can't play MP3s. Can I still use bit pim to upload mp3 ringtones to the phone?

Thanks.

Software differences

I just received my 8300 and I have version 1 for the software and understand that there is a version 3 out there. I checked all throughout the forum, all 32 pages, and didn't see anything on here stating what the differences were between each version. Can anyone tell me what all the differences are between version 1 & 2 & 3?

Synch with Outlook Contacts

Anyone with experience with the Mobile Office software that sync's with the contacts and phone numbers in Outlook? I'm told that it works just fine by the Verizon salesman. I have way too many to input on the phone. Please offer any first hand experience with this.

Question about text message

Does anyone know how to keep the text message setting on the lg vx 8300 phone to stay on T9 mode so you don't have to keep changing the mode to it everytime you send a text message?

Music player - Matrix or Ultima??

I have an 8100 which will play both mp3s through a hidden player, and wma's through the preferred Verizon player. I use the wma version since I can make playlists, however the playlists can only be 25 songs long (and you have to make them from the phone, not your computer). Anyone know if the software on this phone will allow you to use mp3s with playlists, or have longer playlists with the Verizon WMA version?

8300 + Motorola H3?

I just purchased the 8300 and have the v03 software on it. The bluetooth is excellent with my jabra 350 but my wife needs a headset and is comfortable with the jabra350 and her 8300. I was thinking of picking up the H3. Does anyone have any experience with this headset? How about any experience with the H700? I have read mixed reviews about the H700, but was curious if anyone had any experiences with the v03 on the the 8300. Any help/info would be great. Thanks again
