When using the USB connector to my PC the hourglass just runs and runs after pushing the connect button on Nokia suite. Using Window XP operating system. Has anyone run into this?

Radio Shack to have 60 day exclusive for Sprint

Just found out today that RadioShack will have it for a 60 day exclusive on the Sprint network. Look for it in early May.

For Those Of You With 6165i And Carkits

Group:

My Parrot CK3100 doesn't ring like it did with my old phone.

My 6165i rings. If I hit the pickup button on the Parrot, then the audio goes through it normally.

Is that what you're experiencing?

I also don't see the signal strength indicators on the Parrot's display (one for cell strength, the other for BT link strength) that I did with my old phone.

Are you experiencing anything similar?

I think these problems are in the 6165i and not the carkit.

Complaints on the 6165

I wrote a review of the phone, but ran out of space before I got to the complaints. And they don't let you post two reviews. 😕 So I continue here.

My biggest complaint is that, when the phone rings, the caller id info is not shown on the mini-display. You have to open the fold to see who is calling. I like to have opening automatically answer, though, so it is too late to screen. I know this sounds ridiculous and I must not have the options set right. Maybe so, but I'm pretty savvy technically and I've spent a long time trying to get that information on the display. No success.

In my old phone you could save a picture of one your contacts in the address book and it would show that picture on the mini-display when that number c...

early review

*I am new to Nokia phones (have only owned Samsungs before) and only consider myself a lay cell phone user, but overall I really like this phone so far . . . and even though my dislikes may outweigh my likes in quantity, they do not in quality.
*Like -- seems well-made, ring volume, ring profiles, better reception, all the listed features are great and fit my needs (e.g., speakerphone, outside window, camera, etc.), and my favorite is all the customizing you can do!
*Dislike -- two that really bug me (the rest are minor) -- the side button (ring volume) is horrible and the alarm will go off even if the phone is off -- not enough speed dial #'s, entering #'s & text may involve too many steps at times, size is a little bigger than I hoped, c...

PCS Connection Manager

So will Sprint update the "Phone as MODEM" version of their PCS Connection Manager to support this phone at least over USB?

I don't think the Nokia 3115i is supported yet. It has the same USB functionality as this phone.

How Does This Compare To Nokia 6255i?

OK, the description here at PhoneScoop describes this phone as the same as the 6155 that US Cellular is evauating - except that the 6165 has Bluetooth and no FM Radio.

But the regional carriers have had the 6255 with Bluetooth (and an FM radio?) for some time. Verizon crippled the MP3 player and now has it as the 6256.

Is this phone a modernization in anyway over those phones?

PTT on some Versions?!?!

Towards the bottom of the page it says PTT on some versions. It also says something about BREW on some versions and JAVA on some versions. I wonder if the Sprint "version" will have PTT? That would be cool.
