I think there about eleven pictures of the Sammy sch-a970 dummy phone. They are in two posts by VZW EMPLOYEE. You can see comparisons with the vx8000, e815,sch-a670, a890.

how could a phone this cool not have ringer ids? (unless im mistaken!) 😕

Has anybody found out if this phones will do real music tones? Cause I just heard a rumor that it will only do polyphonic and no real music as ringtones. I think this has kinda been a common thing with samsung, not haviung real music available as ringtones. If that is true I am gonna be really upset cause this phone seemed almost perfect for me. If I cant use real music as ringtones like everyone else, I am gonna flip. Any more info on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

The screen size is listed as 176x220 on Phonescoop. However, the e815 and vx8100 are both listed as 176x220 even though the e815's screen is significantly larger. Will the a970 have the same screen size as the e815 or vx8100?

to see what issues or problems this phone has. I got the 815 after getting rid of the 8100 due to the fact that I couldn't use my own ringtones and that I couldn't hear people very well while using the bluetooth feature. The 815 works well (for me) but there is always something better around the corner (esp in this market).

I also feel that it will be tested more completely here than a 5-10 minute demo in the store.

Anyway, for the people who are getting them when they are released--I hope you enjoy it. 🙂

With the lack of USB Connection....what does that mean for the user?

does anyone know how much this phone will be subtracting the $50 rebate and the charge of 2, 1, 0 Year contracts?

I have been holding off on getting Verizon on the basis that this phone might be the one to get. I actually tried the LG 8100 and returned it and cancelled Verizon within the allowable 15 days. I was going to go to Cingular - not so much for their service - but because they appear to have better phones. However, if the 970 lives up to its potential then it might be worth waiting a month or two for its arrival. I just hope it doesn't start out like the 8100 and/or the Motorola 815.

Just wondering if anyone has some comments based on their familiarity with Samsung and/or they know something about this phone.

ok,, from what i gather, there is a chance that the phone will come out by the end of august...although i would rather be safe and say september sounds more reasonable..i hope its worth the wait based on the fact that i returned two 8100s, and one 815...i tried so hard to like the lg but that goddamn earpiece volume is simply unacceptable.. dont buy it folks it sucks.. the 815 on the other hand has great volume and tone, but motorola had the audacity to put an absolutely useless camera and video in the phone..and yes to all you nay sayers, phones are capable now of taking at least decent pics and videos, so dont bother using that as an excuse..verizon youd better not dissapoint on this one cause people out there including me are sick of your...

It was my understanding that when Verizon releases Music On Demand they will uncripple the 8100's mp3 player. Has anyone heard anything about this?

will this phone for verizon have the capability of displaying downloadable skins and themes?? (not screensavers and wallpapers)

vzw rep here...had 4 call out cards sent to us...sounds like its going to be real soon...samsung rep who also came by was surprised it was not here yet...bluetooth will be limited...sucks...oh well...
