MICRO SD CARD FOR THE SCH-A970???

I recently went from my B.B. back to a Samsung SCH-A970. I tried to use my 4 GB Micro SD Card, but the guy at the Verizon Store said it was "Too Big" for my Samsung to recognize it. I'd like to use the biggest SD Card I can for this phone. The guy at the Verizon store said I could go with eaither a 1GB or 2 GB Micro SD Card.

Can anyone Confirm this please?

SAMSUNG SCH A970 SET-Up QUESTION?

I've got the above phone I bought used from E-Bay. I had one when they were new, but recently went to a Black Berry and now BACK to this phone.
I bought it mainly for the "Voice Recognition" feature so I can "Dictate" my Text Messages.
On my old phone all I had to do was press the right top hand button and say,
"Send Text To....."
and then just speak my Text.
On the SHC A970 I just got from E-Bay, when I press this Button, NOTHING HAPPENS.
Is there a way to "Assign" this button, so that when pushed, It "Beeps" and I can dictate my message?
I do not have the owners manual and am wondering if I'm missing something here, or the phone is Defective?

my phone shuts off constantly

My phone just shuts off, like the battery is dead, but it fully charged.. leave in in the charger all night, and anywhere from 5 minutes to 2hrs later, take a look, its shut off.. turn it on, and once again, shuts off in a little while.. ? checked battery connections, all good.. can't push a button with the lid closed and shut it off, took it out of the carrier, lay it on the table, still shuts off?

Question about ringtones... and recording your own

Im pretty stumped at this point with ringtones on the samsung sch-a970. I go to (get tunes and tones) and try to record New. It works, BUT the catch is that you cant set it as a ringtone. My friend sent me a file as a .mid file and im trying to set that as a ringtone and it WONT work at all. Im stuck.. i hate verizon so much cause they screw you for everything.

My friend has the: Motorola V323 / V325 / V323i / V325i Not sure which one of those its the verizon one though. It EASILY records its own ringtones and lets you take in mid files and use them

please help thanks!

Keyboard

This may sound like a completely off the wall question, but does anyone know if there is a keyboard that can be used with the a970? Bluetooth or having a cable, doesn't matter, I'm just looking for something to make texting go a bit faster.

Thanks!

New 970 user... help!

Hey guys,

I just got a new SCH-a970 from Verizon. I've been looking thru this forum and I'm excited to learn more about the things you can do to this phone.

Firstly I'd like to say that I HATE how Verizon has restricted this US release model.

Ideally, I would like to flash the firmware of this phone so it no longer is affiliated with Verizon (screw VCAST) and just acts like the normal model. Is this possible?

If not, my main concerns are using MP3's as ringtones and using a bluetooth headset, being able to send/receive files via bluetooth. I've seen "bitpim" mentioned many times so I already have that. I've downloaded the USB driver from the Samsung website. My main problem is that I do not own a compatible USB cable... can I jus...

MP3 files on t-flash card

When I drag files from WMP to the card via card reader, then put the card in the phone, it doesn't show any files stored on the card. Must the files be in MP3 format or WMA or both? Consequently, no music on my phone...

Thanks...

cell phone strap?

i was wondering about how many people have thought about the fact that you can't attach a cell phone strap to the 970. while i do enjoy the phone, the strap is a bit of a problem for the fact that my sister recently returned from korea and gave me a matching pair of cell phone straps for my girlfriend and me. i was pleased at the fact that i was receiving such a nice gift from my sister, but was quite dismayed when i found that the 970 doesn't have anywhere to attach a cell phone strap. for now, it's hanging from the hinge. i managed to get the string around the top half of it and get it to stick, but it looks a bit too obtrusive for me. i realize that a strap may damage the lens of the camera and that may be why...but regardless, it's quite...

No Graphics in text messages?

I just bought my A970. Having owned LGs, I've grown to love putting graphics, annimations, and sounds in my text messages. I don't see this option in the A970. Any clues?

I miss the tip calculator. And why is the front screen so dim?

I upgraded from an VX8000 and with the exception of the Bluetooth & improved camera I'm not impressed.

If I can't get the graphics in text messaging I'm returning it.

Thanks!

Bad Menu Style

I heard about somebody changing their menu style back to the regular style or to a different companys style with still keeping verizon by installing it or something. Does anyone know how to do this?

Are people stupid?

I've read a lot of the user reviews for this phone and a lot of the complaints are for missing features that aren't missing. Before bashing a phone, read the manual!

So, YES there is a quick way to silent the phone. press and hold the vol. down on the side with the phone open. "sound off activated" wow

And, YES you can store pictures and video on the transflash. (which is fantastic, because you can then put them on your computer WITHOUT vpix. camera on/ options/ settings/ memory...

There are others, but I just wanted to get that off my chest.
