Verizon Update & Price Question

Anyone have an update when Verizon might be carrying this phone? I spoke with a sales rep. šŸ™‚ and he said that maybe by 3rd quarter...when might that be?

Also, anyone know of what price it might be offered? I would think that it would be right there along the price of the LG phones.....about $100-$150, anyone else's thoughts?

They say the cost is $700

Got to this link. They say the Koi is coming in September, not December or August.

Also it's supposed to be $699 and is considered a high-profile competing phone.

The Fish

I think it's funny that they named a phone after a fish. It does somewhat resemble a fish though.

Koi for VZW

šŸ™„ So for the past month I have known of the Kyocera Koi. I want it, and my contract renewal is soon. When is the koi coming out so I dont have to break down and buy the LG VX 7000? If anyone has a date or month that it could arrive I would be so thankful. By the way they should give a preview of upcoming products on VZW.

Blue or Silver?

Can anyone speculate if Verizon will be carrying the blue version of this phone or the silver one?

I almost forgot...

I had a chance to play with this puppy back in January at a wireless convention in Baltimore, MD. I'm been up the v710's ass the last 7 months, I forgot about much I liked the Koi when I played with their live model. It was VZW branded and the screen and menus were amazing. The part I love about it is that it folds in the conventional way of taking photos with a digital camera. It gives it the real digital camera experience that way. I just wasn't into the blue color phone. It was rather bulky, too bust phones on their way up are getting bigger not smaller. I'm looking forward to this. The Kyocera rep mentioned a late 2004 release.

Kyocera Koi might be heading toward Virgin Mobile

The Kyocera Koi might be heading toward
Virgin Mobile. I called Virgin Mobile for one hour straight, and their policy's I guess don't allow them to give any information about any new products. But, after calling for an hour straight, I picked up some clues from some representatives and one even game me the time when it's supposed to come out. I know the phone is coming out with Virgin because all of the representatives are like "we can't give any information about our new products that are on the way", others told me that there is a big possibility that they will be getting the Koi. One person even told me that they should be getting it in about a month. This information is not guaranteed, but Iā€™m very positive that Virgin Mobile will be ge...

mp3?

I like the style of this phone a lot but the only thing it seems to be missing is mp3 playback. Is it possible that this will be possible? On the Kyocera A5305K, the Japanese version of this phone supported by AU by KDDI, there is mp3 playback. Why does this phone not have it!!??!

VZW

Like Rich has confirmed, VZW will get this phone. It is most definately going to be a while. It is still in the first to mid stages of testing, and after the T720 incident, VZW is meticulous in testing. Looking foward to this phone.

Another reason for me knowing it will be for VZW, besides the openwave browser, and the BREW, is the fact that you can see pics all over the internet with the "Get it now" icon. Anyone else see these?????? Dead giveaway on VZW. Just hope its out by the time I am up for trade in.

No update to 7135?

I've been waiting to get a Palm OS phone until a new (hopefully smaller) Kyocera Palm phone comes out, rather than get a year-old 7135 technology.

I guess maybe I'll have to switch to GSM and go with the Samsung i505. (Sprint has poorer coverage of NYC area than Verizon, which has the worst selection of phones).

Any advice?
