Can someone explain the vibrate "problem" to me?

I think I want to get this phone but I don't understand the problem that is going on with the vibrate mode on this phone.

Here’s what I want a phone to do since it’s what my current phone does (Audiovox 9155x).. either I want it to ring and beep for everything, or, I want it to vibrate for everything. Nothing fancy, no vibrate then ring, no ring for some things or vibrate for others. Can this phone do that? Is it hard to switch from one to the other? Currently on my phone all I do is hold down the # key for a few seconds and it switches to silent vibrate mode, hold it down again and it switches back.

I keep my phone in my pocket so I normally keep the phone locked. That way it wont go from vibrate mode to loud ring with out me...

LG VX4600

I thought this phone was a really great product at first until recenly I have had a million promblems with it. I wanted to know has anyone experienced the same problems I have. For example this phone turns off by itself for no reason ( Battery is fully charged and the signal strength is full); and when the phone turns off you have to take the battery completely off to reset the phone. Since this was the second phone I have had of this make and model today I traded it in for the LGVX6000 hopefully this will be a better phone. 🙄

What should I do?

I recently ordered the LG VX4600 online (not sure why it isn't sold in stores) and soon after received an e-mail from Verizon saying that in order for my order to be processed Verizon need a $400 security deposit for the phone, which only costs $69.99 on their website. The e-mail also said that I would be mailed a letter explaining the deposit. I do not understand why I have to pay a security deposit for the phone, and most importantly why do I have to pay for the deposit if the individual that is being billed for the phone is already a Verizon customer? What is the purpose of this "security deposit" and would I get the deposit back? I haven't received any such letter explaining the deposit, and emailed Verizon saying this. Soon after I...

Custom Ringtones question

Does anyone know if you can link an incoming contact's phone number to a downloaded custom ringtone? I had the Samsung 610 and you could only use the preprogramed ringtones to customize an incoming call.

Will it ever be available in stores?

I'm ready for my NE2 deal and I would love to get this phone. Some have stated that VZW will not let you upgrade to this phone via the Internet or a call to customer service.

When will it ever be available in stores?

vibrate only mode

Got the 4600 today and so far its a pretty nifty phone. Cool scrolling front screen that turns off after a user-set interval but will show the time/date with a push of a side button. One thing I can't figure out: the ringer can be set for "silent", "low", "med low", "med",
"med high", or "vib + high" but apparently not VIBRATE ONLY. I know I must be missing something because the "vibrate only" mode is standard today. Nothing in the manual or online that I can find to explain this. I'm gonna talk to the Verizon rep tomorrow, but I'd though I'd check with other users. Thanks for any input!

USB port?

I'm really excited to read in the specs that the VX4600 has a USB port. Since I haven't actually seen the phone except on line, I'm wondering how it works and what it can be used for. Can you hook the phone to a computer? Transfer pictures from computer to phone without paying the "Buy it Now" ransom? Songs? Phone lists? I appreciate any help.

Pictures / wallpapers...

I wouls like to know how to insert a picture to my 4600. I hate wallpaper backgrounds, I would love a simple white background (it would be good to have a wallpaper option 'off' or 'none').

I have no experiance, no cables, no idea, no nothing....

Can somebody please give me step-by-step info (or point me to a website) how to edit a new pic and how to download it to my cell phone?

Thanks!

How do I stop the scroll???

Ok, I really like this phone, but my big annoyance is the outer display. Is there ANY way to stop the time from scrolling across the screen and just keep it still?

Thanks!

Side buttons

I just returned a LGVX 4500 because every time I picked up the phone I hit the side buttons and either changed the volume, activated the voice feature or muted a ringing call. It was very confusing and annoying. ☹️ The phone is so slim that it's hard to avoid the buttons, and they seem unusually sensitive. My question is for people who already have the 4600 or 6000. Do you have trouble with the side buttons? Any way to change the settings so that they don't automatically activate? I'm very interested in the 4600, and would like to know before I commit. Thanks!

LG4600 now avail for upgrades on internet

🙂
This afternoon, Verizon just made a change to the selections of phones available to upgrade to. The LG 4600 is now shown as an upgrade available for existing customers, via internet only.
So, the hoops you have to jump thru if you are an existing customer, at least in my area (Chicago area), have finally been eliminated.

Another (somewhat) easy way to order LG4600

I called internet sales dept., and here's what they told me. They said--go sign on to my account on-line and upgrade me phone, selecting any phone that's available for the upgrade. Place the order on-line and get the order number. (They will email it to you, or you can print the screen.)

Call internet sales about an hour later at
866-338-7390. Tell them you want to change an existing order, and give them the order number. Ask to change to a LG4600. They will do so, no questions asked.

I had originally tried doing it as a phone order, then calling back, but they told me I could only get the 4600 via an internet purchase. So they cancelled my phone order, gave me that phone number above. Customer service at that number said to pl...

How I ordered my VX4600 as an existing customer.

After 2 days of calls and 7 transfers, I finally got to order my VX 4600.

I got the usual run around, this is an internet only phone, this is only for new subscribers, etc. I was up for my NE2, I wanted this phone, not the VX6000, yes I know it has a camera.

I finally got through to a Verizon Internet Services person. (2 JOIN IN number, option 4). He got me in touch with an internet sales person. This is a breakdown of what she said:

"Order a NE2 phone, any phone, and get the orger number. In an hour or so, call the internet sales department, (2-JOIN-IN number, option #4 then #1) and tell them you want to change the phone you ordered to the VX 4600)."

I did that. They said they had changed the phone and it will be on its way...

Hole for a hand strap

My question is, does this phone have the little hole on it where you can put a hand strap? I recently came from Japan and phone charms are the really big thing over there. I have a ton of them & I really want to be able to put them on my phone like I had in Japan. I love my 4400 but it doesn't have the hole. I'm not going to switch unless I find a phone I really like that has the little hole.

Accessories

What accessories are compatible with the LG 4600? Is it the 4500 or the 6000? I found an authorized retailer who is willing to order this phone for me for an upgrade as Verizon Wireless will not.

Thanks for any info!!

LG VX4600 Tri Mode . . . Is it true?

I see the 'Info' page shows that the phone is available in a Tri Mode version. Has anyone seen one. Do you know where I can find one?
Thanks

lg 4600 mobile office kit

Hello,
I am looking to buy a mobile office kit and a car charger for the LG 4600. The problem is that I found multiple brands of data cables on ebay, some less expensive than others. Which brand should I purchase? I need a data cable and drivers so that I can connect my laptop to the internet. I would appreciate it if anyone could refer me to a site that they have had a positive experience with, and sells the mobile office kit that is compatible with LG 4600. Alex

upgrade to the 4600

It seems safe to say that going thru Verizon Wireless customer service is the best way to get the LG VX4600 for an upgrade. It seems kind of foolish to me that a company such as Verizon Wireless is denying its customers the right to purchase a piece of equipment simply because the customer is not a new customer. Just wanted to get some input on from those who have received the 4600 via upgrade thru Verizon Wireless. Thanks
