What should I do?

I recently ordered the LG VX4600 online (not sure why it isn't sold in stores) and soon after received an e-mail from Verizon saying that in order for my order to be processed Verizon need a $400 security deposit for the phone, which only costs $69.99 on their website. The e-mail also said that I would be mailed a letter explaining the deposit. I do not understand why I have to pay a security deposit for the phone, and most importantly why do I have to pay for the deposit if the individual that is being billed for the phone is already a Verizon customer? What is the purpose of this "security deposit" and would I get the deposit back? I haven't received any such letter explaining the deposit, and emailed Verizon saying this. Soon after I...
