new Curve!

I am an official BlackBerry Curve owner now! I love this phone! What a difference between this phone and my RAZR.

Still learning much of the functions...

Blackberry 8300 Curve and wired sync to outlook

I am contemplating switching from Nokia E62 to Curve. I've got several questions I was hoping curve owners can answer.

Will the curve sync w/ my pc outlook contacts and calendar items using the usb data cable?

Can I sync pc outlook contact and calendar items wirelessly to curve w/o a data plan?

Do calendar items including additional text for that entry x-fer over completely?

Thanks in advance.

Its coming to Verizon

The curve is going to be in stores at the end of the month. Its going to be silver and black. Its going to be the same price as the 8830. Its not going to be a world phone.

Youtube Mobile on the Curve...

Anyone got it to work...whenever I try using the blackberry browser it gives me an error, when I try using Opera Mini the videos don't even show up as clickable links, and when I use the AT&T media net browser and click on "watch video" it forces my phone to restart and if you own one you know that it takes about 2 min to come back on.

Is there an equivalent to Mobile Office on BB's?

I'm in the market for a new phone. I'd like to get a Blackjack, and one of the main reasons why is the Mobile Office (Word in particular). However, AT&T is giving me the run around about getting the cheaper MediaMax data plan instead of the PDA Connect. I'm thinking about just saying forget it and going with either the Blackberry Curve or Pearl and their $30/mo data plan.

Does the BB Curve or Pearl have a word processing type software feature, something roughly equivalent to Mobile Word? Ideally, I'd like to be able to load .doc or .rtf file to the phone and be able to work on it.

Some Curve Questions

Ok, I'm really close to considering this phone. I have some questions.

1) What kind of "over the air" calendar syncing does the Curve have? I'm using goosync for my RAZR v3xx at the moment. Works good.

2) I've heard comments about dust behind the screen. Can a "slip case" that covers the outer parts of the phone solve this issue? I know that would drive me nuts!

3) Any other "gotcha's" that you noticed with this phone only after you started using it?

old software

I noticed that they are using Cingular software.
which means, that you are not able to get the best service.
try to update to ATT.

3rd party apps

Has anyone downloaded any third party applications for the curve? I'm not talking about your standards (Ramble, Jivetalk..etc.)

I always check out the "Tricked Out" forums to see if theres any flashy programs out there, but I've yet to see anything that strikes my fancy. You see, I demo my curve to customers at least 5 times a day, and I want something catchy. Google maps is what interests people most of the time. But it's still a map program

anyone?

Problem transfering music (mac user)

So when I transfer my music I just go up to my bluetooth icon on my G4 and send file to my 8300, I choose in my music folder to receive file using bluetooth...for whatever reason it always puts the music in my ringtone folder. Anyone know how youre supposed to go about sending a music file and have it get put in your music folder?

4GB MicroSD/Transflash

Haven't seen any posts on this but I just got the 4GB MicroSD card for my Curve and it's working perfectly. Have 3 movies and about 50 songs and a bunch of pics on there and I've barely made a dent. Amazing that you can store 4Gigs of data on such a tiny piece of storage media.

Gmail problem.

Anyone having trouble with the Gmail application on their Curve? I find that the application continuously freezes up, particularly when I'm composing an email of any length.

voice/sound recording length

How long can you record a voice memo with this phone? Currently, with my RAZR, I can record as long as I have space on my memory card. The longest recording logged in at an hour and a half!

I like this feature especially when I'm in the creative mood and don' have a pen and paper handy.

Can you do this with the Curve?

Problem with synching voice and picture on .mp4 video

Having my first problem with the curve. I converted a movie (Blade) to .mp4. Tried playing it, but the picture and sound was unsynchronized. Anyone else having this problem? Any solution? The picture looked great and it sounded wonderful but was just unsyncronized.

sim card error

In the past 12 hours my phone has given me a sim card error three different times. It locks the phone up, and since its in my pocket, I don't notice till I pull it out to use it. I have already missed a couple of important calls and emails. Any ideas?
