thinking of switching

I am thinking of switching from Verizon to Cingular in order to get either the BB Curve or Pearl. My concern is downgrading from the 3g speed to the slower Edge speed. I use the web browsing a lot so my question is...how much slower is the edge vs. 3g (evdo)? Is it a deal breaker?

Self Timer on the camera with The Curve

Does the curve have a self timer for the camera? I do not see that feature, can anyone help me with that if that is a feature with this phone?

Camera Quality

I currently have the SE w810 and really enjoy the picture quality. I don't expect the Curve to match it (no autofocus) but I was wondering what you Curve owners thought of the camera?

Pearl vs. Curve vs. iPhone???HELP!!

Hi Everyone,
I currently have a Pearl (which was my first Blackberry) and since my contract is up, I'm looking to upgrade. I have been checking out the curve for a few days and have read really good reviews on it. The ringtone colume and speakerphone on my pearl is terrible! How does the curve compare? Also the keys are almost annoying when trying to email or text. (of course I thought they were great at first because I was coming from a razor-lol). I've been considering the Curve, but ads are looming everywhere about the new iPhone. SHould I pay an arm for this new gadget or just go with the Curve. I'm a working professional and definitely need a business type phone. Any informed opinions??

Internet Speed, Voice Quality & Ringer Volume

Hey everyone! I am thinking about getting the Curve and have some questions.

Please keep in mind I am coming from the Sony Ericsson .

1. I know its not 3G, but any complaints about the speed of EDGE?

2. How's the voice it perfect, loud or low?

3. I read the ringer volume could be anyone agree or disagree?

*Bonus Question:
4. Should I wait for a 3G Blackberry, which should be released in 4Q?

Thank you!

a little buggy...

Please post if you've had these problems with your Curve as well! First of all, other than these minor glitches, this phone is the closest to perfect that AT&T has come out with yet! Here's the problem(s)....

First of all, my first Curve had a VERY stiff keyboard and would turn itself off every once in a while...so I got a different one. Not a problem with the second one. HOWEVER, on BOTH devices, the calendar reminders DO NOT WORK. This is a big deal for me as I use them quite frequently on my Pearl and 8700 to remind me of appointments/meetings. Also, if you set the backlight to last anything longer than 30 seconds, it won't work. It will turn itself off (the backlight that is) after 30 seconds no matter what. Is anyone else hav...

gmail issue...

This is my first blackberry device, and let me just say, its is by far the best phone I have EVER used. I worked for Sprint for a while and went through several phones there, plus my fist verizon LG a long time ago, and most recently a Nokia 6682. This phone blows them all away. I only have one major issue with it...I have a gmail account set up on it, and whenever I reply to a message, it sends my reply to both the recipient, and back to my at the address I sent it from. Why in the heck is it doing this. I have pop turned on on gmail, cause I use apples mail.app to check it at home. And on the phone I have read reciept and all that stuff turned off now. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Nick

Boy am I glad I switched - now I need some help

I am so happy I switched to AT&T from Verizon. Some things that I already love.
1. I don't have to type in a password to get my email. Just hold down the 1 key and go. I was able to create a speed dial to do this with verizon but had to add pauses etc. to do this.
2. Transferring music is a breeze - AND you can set any .mp3 file as your ringtone - no having to send a text message to do this - AND it sounds great (I have to change my ringtones to .mid files to play them well with verizon.
I can go on but all you guys know this already.
Here is my question.
I set up all my email accounts to have them transfered to the curve. This puts an extra folder for each one on my screen. All the messages go to 2 places - into the Message folde...

play video files?

I know there is no "video recorder" for this phone, but does it support playback of video? I have some videos in MP4 and 3GP format. I've been able to play them on my v3xx and I considering taking that phone back to get this one.

I would like to play the videos on this phone only.

Does it do that?

Low Volume on Handset

At full volume, my Curves volume seems to be low. Especially compared to my previous VZW Blackberry 8703e and my wifes Pearl. Anybody else having this problem? Maybe it's this particular Curve.
