No sound on answering

Hi! I have a 437, and have been having a problem when answering the phone. Upon answering a call, there is no Sound from the speaker and the mic is also disabled. I must press the center button 2 times to have things work. When i press the center button after answering a call, the emblem at the bottom of the screen changes from a speaker-to a phone-and back to a speaker the second time i hit it. It works fine after i hit the two buttons. Anyone know what the problem is and how i can fix it? Thanks!

Block Number Withheld Feature

Does this phone have a feature to block out any calls that says "Number Withheld" without paying a monthly fee?

This Samsung VS Nokia 2610?

πŸ‘€ I have a Nokia 2610 with AT&T prepaid (Cingular Pay As You Go GoPhone) and have been looking at getting a phone that can do a little more, but don't want to lose quality either. They have some refurb package deals on the Samsung that don't sound too bad.

Does anyone out there who has this Samsung have experience with the Nokia 2610 for comparison purposes, particularly with AT&T?

I text pretty fast and the typing speed on the Nokia is pretty fast, both with texting and with typing emails while on the browser.

Does the Samsung type or text fast, is the keypad easy/smooth to type on, or is the keypad slow and do you have to wait for the cursor to catch up? Do you have problems with error messages when texting?

If it's s...

Front Screen Time out??

I am looking for a Samsung flip phone where the front panel will stay illuminated to always show the time. I had the 707 Sync and it made me crazy! The front panel was never on, so I never knew if my phone was on or off, what time it was and if I had new messages. I know it's all about preserving battery life, but I should be able to decide if I want it on or off.
Any help would be great.
I need a phone with camera, speaker, calendar, etc. Don't need an MP3 or fancy bells and whistles.

Forgetful Phone?

I use T9 when I text. If the phone doesn't recognize the word, it'll ask me to spell it and keep the word in its memory.

But I've had to do the same words more than once. Does the phone just forget the words after a while or what?

Java or just games?

Now the last time I tried a Sammy it was the C-207. Right on the box, "Java Support!" Turns out the only java support was for games.

Well I expect that when I add Opera Mini and Gmail applet, they will work. After all we can buy bandwidth on AT&T. Not so though on the grubby C207. "This is a basic phone, sir. We don't support 'internet.'" All the while a similarly basic N6030 would do it just fine. The applets would run, just not connect.

Does anyone know if this phone supports connected java applets?

Can I record a video clip with this phone?

Hi everyone,

I am a new member to this forum, just signed up a couple of minutes ago actually.

I just bought this phone for my aunt, and she's been asking me whether or not can she record a video clip with this phone.

I assumed that any phone that has a camera capability, should be able to record a video clip. My mom has a Nokia 6103, and I was able to record a short video clip with it.

I don't have the phone on me, that's why I'm seeking HELP.

Thanks so much everyone. πŸ™‚

I broke the latch on the back...

Yesterday while I was jogging, my phone slipped out of my pocket and fell on the street... the latch that holds the backing where the battery is broke off... I'm not sure if there is a way of just buying a new backing or not cuz I'm not feeling buying a whole new phone.

Verizons a870 vs AT&Ts a437

Just got Verizon a870: tin can sound, battery only lasts 1 day, voice level comes and goes, static, gets warm; is this normal? Verizon neglected to inform me of the $60+ taxes and surcharges on each monthly bill. This really adds up! Thinking of changing to AT&Ts a437. Better phone? Less tax’s? Feedback, please.

Bluetooth capabilites

I'm new to bluetooth, i'll admit, this is the first modern phone i've had. Under Bluetooth Servies in the menu it says handsfree and headset. does this mean i'm not able to transfer with other phones via bluetooth. I used another family members and turned bluetooth on both, but both said no devices could be found.

I am looking at getting this phone for my wife.
Can this phone use a MP3 as a ringtone?
If so, what does it take to get there.

Thanks Ahead of time.

More redundancy from Samsung

I hear enough already about Motorola and practically all their designs stem from the RAZR. Samsung is no angel. With the exception of some altered designs on some Sprint phones, all their phones are clones of each other in some way or another. πŸ˜•

Nice

Just a KISS (keep it simple, stupid) example of a bulletproof design.
