Phone is discoloring

My phone is shielded with shield zone. Recently I had to switch pouches and the new one has leather inside (black). I don't know whether or not this is relevant. But now my phone has a purplish black discoloration (like 1" x 1.5") on the back and the front glass has two semicircles (like the kind that is made when the front is active) and black spots along the edge. I don't know whether the problem is the shield, the new case, or the phone is just "burning up" (though it does not feel hot). Help?

Camera Issue :( :(

I've only had my new LG 8700 for a couple of weeks. I bought the leather case from Verizon, but didn't like the way it fit, etc. So I've been really careful with it, putting it in my pocket with no other items (keys, change etc), so I wouldn't scratch the camera. Something has happened and coating over the lens (UV?) has started coming off, all my pictures are fuzzy. I've messed with all the settings, highest resolution etc. Has anyone else had this problem?

I've been extra careful about scratching this lens.

Is it a must to use USB cable for Bitpim to recognize VX8700? Is it possible to connect them via BT?

Anybody heard about the NEW LG-VX1505 SE?

This is a special edition phone LG is going to launch on Verizon sometime soon. Clamshell, thin RAZR type profile but all touch screen interface. Will have Google UI, 8MP camera with flash and 10GB on board memory. Phone is built with carbon fiber- superstrong and light and really beautiful. Warning though- it will be very expensive. Over $500.00 full retail! I work for LG and leaking this info cause its due out soon....

Enjoy

Phone Turns Off Randomly

My 8700 has started turning itself off randomly. Verizon suggested trying a new battery, which I'm doing now. Has anyone else had this problem?

crack code? help with ringtones

I have this LG 8700 phone from telus. Not a bad phone - except, I cannot use any of my MP3 songs that I've transfered from my computer and use them as ringtones. I have "created" small MP3 files to allocate them for ringtones, but, this phone doesn't let you do that.

I am told that you need a "crack" for the phone because Telus doesn't allow you to do that. The only way you can allocate ringtones is if you download them and pay for them. Then they can be used.

Anyone know of a crack for the phone? Or a sneaky way of doing this?

I'm not too good a phones - so if you reply - please write a little detail so I can do it myself. Thank you!! 🙂

Wallpaper Pics Rejected

Lately I've been having trouble sending wallpaper pics to my phone. Verizon has been automatically bouncing them back, saying the header or body contains "forbidden" content, and then they give some non-sensical list of letters. These pics are of TV personalities. Anyone know what's up with this?

LG VX-8700 vs. Motorola RAZR2 V9m (Verizon Wireless)

I've narrowed my choices to these 2 models and have the following comments and questions:

1. The V9m is a LARGE phone. Have any users found it to be too bulky?

2. The font on the v9m seems small and is unadjustable (vs. 3 adjustable fonts on the VX-8700). Have any V9m users found the text to be too small (especially those that may need reading glasses)?

3. Reviews for call clarity and signal strength have been favorable for both models. Has anyone on here done a side by side comparison of one vs. the other? I've read reviews that both sound more like landlines than mobile phones.

4. The VX-9700 SAR rating is 60% higher than that of the V9m (1.13 vs. 0.71). All things being equal, why take the chance, right?

5. Some reviewers ...

I don't know what the new software fixes, but it's
out as of today. I haven't noticed any difference on my phone, but I never really had any issues anyway.

VX-8700 vs. VX-9400

Hey Guys, Mobile TV aside (which I don't get in NH) which of these phones would you go with. I have played with the VX-9400 for a few days, and while I REALLY like the phone, there are a few things that I don't like. Fingerprints and:

I have a Pioneer DEH-P980BT Head Unit in my car. It has Bluetooth. The VX-9400 does not automatically connect to my car, my old Samsung A930 and Nokia 6256i did. I have to go thru menus to connect (on the Pioneer) which is annoying. Does anyone know if the VX-8700 would auto connect to a Pioneer head unit?

Other than that I love the VX-9400, but am interested in the VX-8700 as well mainly for the 2.0mp cam, and the Stainless Steel look which is incredible. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Todd
