Software Upgrade & bluetooth issues

Hello,

I had my software upgraded and now my blue tooth device, which used to work just fine, randomly disconnects from the phone. Anyone else have the same problem. Any thoughts about a fix? Do you think it is possible to get the firmware rolled back to the previous version?

Battery not holding charge

Had an 8700 for a few months. Recently got a car with bluetooth, and now the battery is not holding it's charge.

I know that bluetooth drains the battery, but this is pretty severe. At first when I turned on the bluetooth I had to charge every other night. Now it is like 12 hours before the battery dies. This morning I charged it back up for an hour and about 4 hours later it was dead again.

Any ideas? Bad phone or bad battery? I have the total equipment coverage, so I'm pretty sure I can get it fixed.

LG VX8700 Water Damage Stickers

Just got back from VZW with a new LG VX8700. I took out the battery to pop in a memory card and noticed that the water indicator stickers on both the battery and the phone are white with red crosses on them. In previous phones that I've had, the water indicator stickers have been just plain white and turned red when water touched them.

Are the stickers supposed to be white with red crosses, or did I somehow get a phone that already shows it has been wet? Thanks.

What's Up With the Clock?

Just got my 8700. Seems OK, but WTF is up with the outside clock! The inside clock reads fine, but the outside clock has a 0 (zero) in front of the hour. Don't know about AM yet but all afternoon (PM) it has a 0 in front of the hour. Can it be fixed? Don't mean to be rude, but something so simple is soooo frustrating!

Can't copy files to SD card

Hi. I just bought an LG 8700 and a micro SD card. When I format the card, the folders appear on it, and I can use the phone to save new pictures to it, works fine. After being formatted, it shows the total, used and available memory. When inserted in the pc, the pc can read the folders and the files perfectly. But as soon as I copy even a single jpg to a folder in the card, the phone can no longer read any folders or files on the card, and shows 0 total memory, 0 used, and 0 available for the card. Same thing happens with mp3's. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

GPS Tracking on VX-8700 phone...any possibility?

Hello,

My father and mother in law have an unruly grandchild who needs a "chaperone". She has a VX-8700 cell phone.

Is there any way her location can be tracked by her cell phone? I have read that the LG Migo has a chaperone feature. Is there any setting in the phone firmware/software that could allow this phone's location be tracked?

Thanks.

Call Alert

I currently have the LG VX-8600 and I use the Call Alert-Caller ID + Ring. It says "call from" (name or #) and then ring tone. Does the VX-8700 have this? I had a previous LG phone that had this but the VX-8300 does not seem to have this.

8700 w/ Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS - Bluetooth Issues

I just received a gift of a Garmin Nuvi 360 GPS unit for my car. I have a VX-8700. The phone isn't listed on the list of compatible phones, but the 8600 is. I'm able to establish a bluetooth connection briefly, but then it quits and hangs. Does anyone have any information about using this phone with Garmin Nuvi units?

Thanks. Andy

Bluetooth Issues

I got my 8700 yesterday, and of course I foolishly did not fully test the BT capability before I left for a trip.

Has anyone else noticed a problem with BT? Specifically, the volume. I am using a Jawbone and had NO problems with my VX8300. I tried my old Jabra BT500 with the 8700 and same result.

Some times the volume is fine, other times it drops down and continually has to be reset. Even at the highest volume, it is tough for me to hear.

My family is FedEx'ing me my old VX8300 so I can activate it asap.

Anyone else having this issue with the 8700?

Turning EVDO back on

Hello all,

Well I successfully turned EVDO off to increase battery life, but now I can't get it to turn back on in order to back up my address book on the Verizon server. Anyone know the steps for doing that? I tried all of the options in the service mensu that would seem to make sense but no luck. Help would be appreciated!

50 texts max????

50? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? all these details and features and UNUSED MEMORY WITHOUT A MEMORY CARD and you only let me keep 50 texts at once? 🙄
i like to save logs of convos. (you know, like maybe 2x capacity at least... that's the industry standard...) i have had 4 cell phones and have never seen anything like this. if you have this phone, check how many outbound, inbound and missed calls that are saved in your cache... a month's worth right? like, a zillion? people who you don't even REMEMBER calling? so.. who finds it necessary to keep a month's worth of call records on file?? it's not logical! 🙄 increase storage in the text memory like normal phones!!

don't get me wrong. i love everything about this phone except the ...

8700 and sidetone

I recently purchased the 8700 and am enjoying it. I read in previous posts that this phone does not support side-tone (hearing yourself when you are talking to someone else). During some calls, I have side-tone/can hear myself, however, on the majority of other calls I can not hear myself at all. Does anyone else experience this or have an explanation for this? I am coming from an 8300, which had the side-tone and thought it was a positive feature for a phone. Thanks for any input or help.
