Salvageable StarTac?

I was given a StarTac 3000 that had never been used or activated. Is there any carrier that I can activate it with? Granted, I know it's a dinosaur, and it has a standby time of about two hours (if that), but I hate throwing away electronic equipment, and it would be pointless to donate it if they won't be able to activate it either. Any ideas?

doubt it....I dont' know of any carrier that still uses Analog except for roaming. If you can find one they'll probably not offer great customer service, or the ability to go out of your home area. My only advice if you absolutely MUST not throw it out, is to keep it in the glove box for emergencies. 911 calls will still go thru whether it's activated or not, and on analog you're likely to get a signal even where your digital (VZW, Cingular, etc.) phone can't.
