Virus App

Okay, so my phone has an anti-virus, and I need to test it. I'm not yet a good enough programmer to make my own Android-virus, and obviously the PC-based ones I'm loading the phone with aren't working.

So, where can I download an Android virus to test the anti-virus software?

No angry Birds in market?

I've heard angry birds was released for the android market, but it doesn't show when I do a search. I allowed non market apps download from settings, then tried to download it from getjar. It lets me download but not install it, says I do not have enought memory. I have a non rooted G1 with last update and I have over 30 MB free. Application is only about 13 mb. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Why is it so hard to get yahoo to work without issues on Android? Even with the app from the market, it is still buggy.
I talk to some people that have zero issues with this. What are they doing differently? Most of the people I talk to think it's an arduous task.

Please, somebody tell me an easy fix. It would make my life grand.

cut & paste Android functionality like BB

what indication does anybody have on when the cut & paste functionality will be as easy & simple as it is on BB devices?

I want so bad to switch to the speed, apps & web pages that I love on Android but don't dare switch because it doesn't have the cut & paste ease of use I HAVE to have on email & text of the BB. when's it coming?

Question about resolution...

Is there a "standard" resolution in which Android apps are programmed? If so, does this increase with different Android updates?

For instance, let's say I program a 2D game using 32x32 px tiles. The EVO has a resolution of 800x480 px. That allows for 25x15 tiles to be drawn on-screen.

However, the Intercept has a resolution of 400x240 px. Would a game programmed for an 800x480 px display simply not run? Would the graphics be scaled down by .5? Would only 12.5 and 7.5 of the tiles be drawn to screen at once?

Sorry if it's a silly question; I don't yet have a device to test on yet and I'd like to know what I'm getting into here.

SWYPE alternative apps

I've been doing a lot of digging, tried slideIT, tried to get ahold of a WORKING swype beta, all of these with no success.

Anyone know of one I haven't seen? Or have any information on when the beta may re-open?

ordered two droid phones....

I have verizon. So I ordered the samsung fascinate today and got the motrola x for free for my husband. I have had the blackberry storm since they came out, in fact this is my second one I am trading up from.

Anyway, I read.... oh I want to say its on phonescoop somewhere.... but cant really remember. But I read that the fascinate doesn't have a music player? True? How do I get one on it? Difficult to do? I hope not, mainly I am just to lazy to cope with lots of problems. LOL

Thanks, Jo

Android 2.2 vs iOS 4.1

I’ve spent some time reading about both the Android 2.2 (Froyo) and the iOS 4.1 update recently. Although it’s a pretty close race, looking at a side-by-side comparison of the two leads me to believe that Android is actually winning by a nose.

One of the main problems that were holding the older versions of Android back was their issues with speed. This problem has now been solved with changes that give the OS a 2x to 5x times performance boost which is epic, and there are even rumors that Google is just being modest and that the speed boost is more like 4x-5x. Can’t understand why people are still freaking out about the iPhone 4?
