Are Alltell Phone Features Blocked like USCC

I am considering going with Alltell, because the phone selection is great compared to USCC. I am wondering if I get a phone like the PPC 6700, can I load and and unload mp3s, ringtones, pictures, etc. without using the axcess service. Are all of the bluetooth functions working?

Alltel is usually gives a lot of freedom with their phones unlike .. uh-hem the super-huge phone company they sometimes compete with. Anyways, my V710 and Razr both came fully enabled with the bluetooth file transfer and other functions. I upload my own tones all the time with my Mac. : )

I don't know what market you live in, but USCC in the Chicago market has full bluetooth capability on their phones. Verizon is the one that insists on having crippled bluetooth. USCC competes with VZW in nearly all markets that they serve, while Alltel mainly competes with VZW in Grand Rapids, Madison Wisconsin, Phoenix, and a few other markets that I'm not aware of at the moment.

I live in eastern North Carolina. I recently went with the razr. It would not sync with my computer, nor would it even recognize another bluetooth uscc razr. Only thing the bluetooth would find was a headset.

The USCC RAZR is identical to the Alltel version. Identical with the exception of the usual programming provisionables for each carrier and the fact EV-DO is turned off on the USCC version.

Bluetooth on the RAZR has full OBEX except for OPP. It has headset, handsfree, file transfer and DUN. OPP listed as active but I cannot get it to work but others have been able to send via OPP but not receive.

I use a Mac and the setup was a snap. No issues. Good luck with either carrier....

I have a Nokia 6255i and I transfer mp3s and files all the time. This was one of the reasons why I chose Alltel. 😁

I can tell you that you can load MP3 etc with axcess apps however there are issues with the Bluetooth. I am unclear as to if this is the motorola BT headset that we sell or the phone. Once it is having BT issues it usually takes a "master reset" to clear things up and then they reappear a few days later. Again unclear if phone or headset
