Lost Phone
I just added insuranceon my new nokia 6225i. What happens if I lose my phone and buy a new one with the insurance (50.00) and I get it actvated but I find my old one 3 days later. Will my old phone have a security alert on it. Or can I still use my oldphone if I find it.

The best advice for you is to drop the insurance. It's a rip-off. $50 deductible plus a monthly fee. Odds are, in the long run, you'll pay more fees than the phone will be worth by the time you lose it or drop it. In general,the cell-phone insurance plans are very poor. Just my opinion.

what I would do is have a backup phone like an older model or one off of ebay to use in case yours is lost, stolen or broken, that way you can get it activated without having to go into the store and if you find your old one you can just get that one activated again, I use GSM and I have more than one phone in case my usual phone gets damaged or for some reason stops working, so far I have saved a bundle on insurance coverage.

I work for them and I carry insurance. I do not think they have a way of tracing it just keep it around and if you need it use it. Technically I think you are supposed to turn it in but you cannot undo an insurance claim so do what you need to.

I know they tell you to turn it in. But I was afraid that if I give it to someone to activate will they try to charge me or even sue me. I guess they would go through all of that. I hope not.

if you activate it they will charge you full price for the phone. Policy is if you find it, you are to turn it in.

it does not, they tell you that when you make a claim right before you hang up. I have made may claims with several companies and they all state the same and have the dumbest questions. I call and tell them I lost my phone, 1st question they ask is where. Once you go through all the questions they will then later say "if you ever find your phone, please mail it to us." If you do not believe me call and ask the insurance company they will verify what I said.
