Asking for too much?

I have been with Alltel for 5 years now, and my contract is up in August. I was considering switching to Cingular, but now I may be changing my mind. My only problem with Alltel wasn't the service, just the lack of phone technology. But now they have the 6255, and after checking it out, seems like it is compareable to the V551. Anyways, my question is, since I have been a customer for a decent amount of time, am I asking too much for some sort of 'incentive' from alltel to stay a customer? Nothing huge, but maybe a discout on the phone, perhaps getting the 2 year contract price for signing a 1 year contract, or maybe a free bluetooth headset. I guess I am asking since I don't like the fact that a brand new customer can walk in the store and ...

That is tough to do but If you think about it you are getting a better deal becuase you do not need to pay the activation fee like a new customer and if you have a promotional plan you get to keep that. Also with cingular anytime you make any type of rate plan change they will lock you in for a year where Alltel will allow you to change at any time. Just think T-mobile customers pay more than new customers so you should be happy. 😉

I am a business customer with 8 lines and 56 months of service with Alltel and the only thing I get is the 2yr price for a one year contract so if you only have 1 line I doubt you will get anything more than the best service for the $$$ which is worth a lot to me 😉

I agree with that best service for the money comment and yes I believe business customers are the only ones who get the 2 yr for 1 yr contract.

cdma customers will get better service almost anywhere than the GSM's, i know they are great and fancy and everything but their coverage sucks because they overload their towers with kids and pump all their money into non-stop commercials and that one t-mobile spokeswomans name, whatever it is... someone has to pay for her. and the ammount of whoring she does for that company must cost a pretty penny.

LOL you did make me laugh and you are probably right. I do prefer CDMA after having voicestream/aerial/tmobile for my first and only cellphone till I tried Alltel. Will not leave Alltel for Nothing the coverage rocks. If I ever move back to MInnesota I will go with Verizon and pay more because I am getting so spoiled with the coverage now.
