🤨 So we are staying Alltel? That does not sound right.
I was wondering if this area was going to VZN, or to some unknown at this time company.

Kansas always has been within the Alltel footprint - Acording to the latest map I have on our internal Alltel/Verizon site - Eastern Kansas will become Verizon.

Verizon has agreeded with the FCC to divest its property of Western Kansas to another company and keep the Alltel property.

To make a long story short ALL current Alltel customers will become Verizon in Kansas

Hope that helps!

This is the link to the map of divestures:

As you can see, eastern Kansas is in the light blue section, while western Kansas is in red. Western Kansas is Verizon's purchase of Unicel, which is GSM only there, while Alltel serves nearly all of Kansas. Since Verizon had to divest something in western Kansas, it was easy for them to divest western Kansas, and hope a GSM carrier will buy it. Acquiring Alltel will be a bit easier by integrating an existing CDMA network to Verizon's network. So no Alltel customers are being divested in any part...

www.alltel.com

Type your Zip in.

If it says up top "Verizon Wireless Integration".... I am sure you can figure this out. Dosn't take a rocket scientist.

If it says "Merger Information".... This means you will not become a VZW customer and either sold or stay Alltel untill they decide what to do with you.

Talked with a guy in my area at the VZW store and he didn't want to say one way or the other, no one can blame him. But he did show me this and it shows to me that I am not going to be a VZW customer. Also confirmed by actually getting someone on the phone at 611 to confirm my market is not one that has been "merged".

Take if for what you will. Hope this helps.
