the facts....

Alltel was bought out by private equity for 27.5 billion dollars.

Sprint right now....is worth 17.67 billion dollars.

You do the math. People that say it's impossible blah blah need to wake up. I'm not saying it will happen, i'm not even saying it is likely to happen. But it is very very possible.

yeah sprint can be bought out! No one said that. The money is not the issue. Its how much the buying company if its one of the other carriers would have to sell off. If its google or alltel it would be less as they one do not have spectrum and the other is not nation wide.

Agreed. Alltel snapping up Sprint would be a boon for them as it would finally make them a true contender against the Big Red Machine. With Alltel owning most of the rural CDMA networks in the country, VZW would have no choice but to partner up with Alltel for roaming agreements, but the shoe would be on the other foot and Alltel would virtually control the entire agreement.

Only real problems are the divestiture an what to do about Nextel. How would things split off? and Nextel's a bleeding wound.

Not to mention the debt. Too many particulars to really make you wonder if this would be a worthwhile investment for TPG and GS.
