This quesiton is involving upgrades. I had a Audiovox 8910 (i think thats what it was) and recently lost it but it is time for my upgrade anyway i have never upgraded before so i was talking to a friend and they said you don't get to pick your phone your upgraded to. I was just wondering what phone would i be assigned to and if i didn't like it (my brother hasn't liked any that upgrades he's gotten since his first purchase) is there any way to try and pay a little extra cash to get the phone you want without signing another contract. I would just sign a contract but i just moved to a area that is always on roam (i have a plan where it's free roaming) and idk if i like how fast it drains my battery. I'd also normally ask at a store but th...

I got a question similar to this..my plan has been up for a couple months and my phone is starting to crap out on me. Do I have to sign a whole new contract in order to receive a new phone or not? Can i get an upgraded phone without renewing my contract? Any info would be appreciated.

I don't work for alltel but have been a customer since they were GTE here, what happens is you can keep ur phone and be out of a contract, or you can upgrade ur phone, what happens is you pick any phone you like and you can resign a 2yr contract to get the normal price instead of full retail. You can pick anyphone you want, I went from an LGAX4750 to my UTStarcomm 6700 payed the normal price upgraded my contract and im happy as a clam.

Hope this was of some help

If you are out of contract, or are within 90 days of the end of your contract, you can sign off on a new 1 or 2 year agreement and pick any phone you like. Of course, the two year price is going to be lower, but you do have a choice. If you are still under contract, or, in the case of the situation where you've had service just a couple of months, and you hate your phone and you want something else...you have to buy a different model at full retail. Alltel corporate stores will work with the customer to replace the phone they have within the phone's one year warranty period IF the phone was purchased from an Alltel corporate store through XBM (exchange by mail). If you have insurance on your phone and you file a claim, it is possible tha...

That helped a little but i've been an alltel customer for many years now and i would normally get a new 2 year contract but since i moved to a new area and i'm not sure about alltel here yet (only lived here for 2 weeks) i would also usually continue to use my current phone until i am sure, but i lost it. Is there anyway i can get a different phone and not sign the contract. My brother has had many different phones but i think he always paid the $50 for insurance and got something new that way due to lost or stolen phones. I've also heard that you don't have to sign a new contract but you can pay $50 and get an upgrade the only problem being you can't pick your new phone is that true at all and if it is...is there any way you can pay extr...

No they will give you the next best phone, you don't get to chose with ins, Or you can go on ebay or craigslist to get a new phone, and just pay them and then have it added to ur acct that way,

If you do insurance it would most likely be replaced with LG5000 LGAX245 or possibly the Samsung Snap. It depends on what is in stock. It will not be replaced with an E815

You answer is like this. You can pick any phone Alltel offers. You can purchase it at one of two prices. The nice low contract extension price, or the Suggested Retail Price. No contract, no discount. Now,

if you have insurance and pay the deductable, Alltel will replace your lost phone with the same or comparable model. This is the only scenario where you wouldnt have a choice as to what phone you get. If you insured a Cavalier, it wont be replaced with a Corvette. Period.
