New Blackberry for Alltel???
Heard from my local Alltel rep that they'll be getting a new Blackberry 'world phone' in the summer. Supposedly will work on both networks (can be used in Europe, for example).

Allel now offers North American Freedom Plans, but I haven't heard anything about Europe. I will post if I do hear anything.

Possibly the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition Sprint and VZW announced it and there is a good chance Alltel will as well

Nope, like I said back in May it will be 8830 World edition. CDMA as usual with GSM for overseas roaming no support for domestic GSM.
Tentative release date Aug 16th.

I am wondering the same thing ... I'm trying it out through Verizon and I love it. I just can't get past my plan with them, and no EVDO in my area with Verizon, but Alltel provides the EVDO service in this area. Alltel just has them beaten when it comes to plans. I need to know when this phone (the 8830) is coming!
I also confirmed with my Alltel rep today that as of 27 July 2007, Alltel will be supporting "tethering" of their BlackBerrys. It was posted to "Einstein" (their internal information board) 23 July 2007.

Yeah I had the 6700 and it sucked and i just got the new 6800, its way better then the 6700, where the Blackberry and new Motorola Razr2 is coming out 2-3 weeks.
