When is Alltel getting the Motorola SLVR?

See that's where your wrong. I happen to know several very nice poor people in 3 world countries and in fact all of them are waiting for the SLVR. They, as I, are growing impatient and would just like to know when Alltel is planning to get the phone. Does anyone know?

No...I didn't mean it that way! I'm just pointing out that the 8600 will be the better deal by the time the SLVR launches, so few stores will actually have more than one or two in stock at any given time.
The phone is growing on me slightly, but I'm iffy on the keypad for right now.
Something else that I want to look into when it arrives, is the camera. Moto claims VGA, but people are reporting that they're 1.3s when they open them up.

I didnt want to make a new thread so I'll ask in here. I will be getting Alltel in a few weeks and right now I have a Motorola L2 (cheap slvr) and I love the form factor of it. What I'm wondering is if I should buy a phone without a contract and wait till the slvr comes out?

It works for USCC. Most of our phones are or have been Verizon phones in the past. Alltel and Verizon are just testing. The phone exists.

The phone is back in testing, and seems to be doing better, at least good enough to get into the stores soon. We're not 100% certain yet though, but personally, I can't wait to see it, because they're talking 1.3 on the camera, and support for up to 2 gig on the card. If it's got those and EVDO support, plus the reception issues are fixed, I will likely pick one up.
