Lookin to leave Big Red

Yes, they have the most coverage...but customers are PAYING for it, no doubt. I recently got my first blackberry and with the LOWEST minute plan, i still pay almost $100/month for the blackberry play with VZW. I tried T Mobile about 2 years ago, and the coverage in my area in Central NJ (08880) was pretty bad. Recently I looked at the coverage map on the TMo site and it looked like it's improved in my area...I may be thinking about giving it another try. I think I'm going to get a prepaid TMo phone to test it out again before switching.

So...for those of you that have TMo service, are you happy? Anyone on the East Coast (especially if you're in the NJ area) how is the coverage?

Any insight would be great. Thanks everyone 😁

Getting impatient with T-mobile

How can a carrier spend so much time improving coverage in areas where they have roaming agreements and where their are few people, and not enough time improving their network where their are actually a lot of customers. Network speeds where I live avg 30kbs and sometimes I'm lucky to even see that. Whats strange is that where they have deployed new coverage around here they are using GPRS and not EDGE. How can T-mobile expect to keep customers when they are not improving their network where it counts most. In a town of 47,000 it would seem like that would be a priority. Not sure how much time I am going to give T-mobile after six years of loyalty and to smart phones with data package I expect better. But they need to improve things here in ...

Android & UMA??

I’m thinking about replacing my trusty BB Curve with an Android phone (I’ve become more of a Gmail user/less of a BES user) but find I really need the UMA feature for reception where I live. Does anyone know of a T-Mobile phone in the works which will combine Android and UMA? Thanks!!

New plans and phones

I recently read it somewhere that on one of the new plans offered there won't be any discount on phones.

Is this correct? if yes, which plan?

Thanks!

Please help me decide on a TMO Android phone

I wanted to try Verizon & get the Moto Droid, but the $$ was too high for 5 lines, long story. So, I've fallen into the T Mobile black hole & I'll be here another 2 yrs. ☹️

I am finally ready to upgrade my BB Curve & I'm certain I want an android phone. I got the Cliq to try & it's a good device if you turn off all the Moto Blur stuff, but it's not perfect. So, now I'm unsure what to do. Do I wait to see what's coming out in 1st QTR '10? I looked at the Behold 2 & the specs don't seem better, just a better AMOLED screen. The G2 (HTC Hero) is out in the UK & the Nokia N900 will be soon. Are these better options than the Cliq? Should I return the Cliq & wait? (the G1 & the My Touch didn't provide enough benefit which is why I got the...

T-mobile 3G question

Does T-mobile USA have 3G voice? If it does, will I be able to use the 3G voice on prepaid account (not flexpay) using a smartphone with a 1700/2100 T-mo 3G frequency?

htc touch pro 2 text messaging issue

Hey Guys,

Question! I have a friend with a HTC Touch Pro 2, and sometimes when she views her text messages theyre very nicely layed out, and the page layout looks very smooth and nice. But sometimes when she views them the layout looks like something for AOL instant messenger, or something, and is nowhere near as nice. Could anyone tell me either what were doing wrong, or how to view the messages so that theyre always in the nicer format?

The phone is new to her and we just cant seem to figure it out, ive read all three manuals that were listed on the HTC website, and cant seem to find a solution.

Thanks!
Mikey

$35 migration fee

To all the T-Mobile customers that are whining and complaining about the $35 fee, DON'T PAY IT! It is completely optional. If you don't want to pay the fee, then stay on the same plan you're already on. Quit acting like T-Mobile is making you pay for something you don't want to. If you want the new plan, then suck it up and pay it.

Stressing over new PDA phone

Here's my little "Sell sheet" on myself

Young business professional
Need seamless email for both outlook and gmail
Physical keyboard is a must
Using G1 for last year or so
Touchscreen is nice but not a dealbreaker
MUST have a high quality screen

I've been mauling over getting the Touch Pro2, BB Curve 9700, or waiting to see if there's any new android phones coming out. I was rockin the BB Curve for about 3 years before then so BB interface is well known to me.

Any advice on which phones to get OR if there's anything that might peak my interest in the few coming months. My G1 is bust and I figured instead of spending $130 on my insurance I'd rather just get a whole new phone overall.

Any advice is welcome ^^

Dropping the ball

How many of you think that T Mobile has really dropped the ball and let VZ show them up with Android handsets? While they were the first to offer the platform, VZ's releases have been much better planned and the devices have been much better. The mid-level Eris is better than any T Mobile Android phone and that says a lot. While the new plans are great, I just feel that they will never offer any devices to compliment those plans. VZ and ATT just has so much more to offer in this department. Its almost like they have conceded to the big guys and now want to stay on par with MetroPCS or Cricket. Thats my take. What do you guys think?
