Re: This Is An Insult.
I have found that you don't have to be level headed nor have a pre-requisite of knowledge in the wireless industry to grace the presence of these forums. You just need to be a Fanboi of a product, or a sales rep with no regard to customer's financial pockets.
While I may slightly fall into the category of being a Fanboi, I am not a Sales representative. I am a consumer that takes decisive marketing personally.
I remember about 25 years ago when I was looking to purchase a new car. I told a salesman that I liked the car but needed to talk to my Wife about it. The salesman said he would be right back. when he came back, he told me that he had talked to my Wife and she said I could buy the car! Oh really? Anything to make a sale.
I have friends and family that work for Verizon so I try not to make harsh words toward their livelihood, but when you walk into their stores, it has the feeling of a used car atmosphere. Then they pull crap like this just to smuggle a few extra dollars out their customers. Care that their subs are requesting a certain product, but then the care stops there. They throw a soon to be outdated product into their hands just to shut them up. Why? Their subs have waited this long. what's another few months? This is classic Apple and how they do business and now Verizon is going to become an accomplice to the MO.
My next concern is how long it will now take for Verizon to start restricting certain programs or user experience on an Android product. I'm sure Steve Jobs isn't just handing over his control of the iPhone to Verizon without some competitive agreements to help establish a partnership.
