Getting voice as well as visual directions was always a huge plus while on at&t. This was also nice to be able to web surf when you're on hold. Hopefully they have a fix as there was some talk about getting CDMA networks to support simultaneous voice/data.

If this is a deal breaker then the CDMA iphone or ANY CDMA phone for that matter is not for you.

This should be a deal breaker for anyone. I guess since you are probably new to the iphone you have no clue that most of the applications, especially the free ones because they run ads, accessing the internet while you are in the app. For you verizon users that basically means if your using an app you wont be recieving phone calls or txt messages til your done goofing around in the app..

You got it backwards. You will receive MMS just fine, and calls and SMS will go through, interrupting your session of Angry Birds with a Phone Call screen. It's the same on every other phone.

That's not true. Phone radio and sms always always overrides the data. I have Sprint CDMA and used to have Verizon and can't count the times I've been actively using a data intensive app and have received incoming phone calls and sms, all while a data transfer was currently in progress.

No simultaneous voice and data means if i'm talking on the phone on an active call, data won't work. It doesn't mean if i'm using data that an incoming call or sms won't work.
