I second what Epik said. I believe it was something to do with an expired security certificate or something that Get It Now used. All phones that were active at some period of time before the certificate expired were issued a new certificate so they would continue working. Any phone that wasn't active and didn't get the updated certificate before the old one expired will never be able to access those services again.

No, unfortunately we just here from customers that think they are entitled every day. If you sit back and look at your situation from the outside, I think it looks a little different is all. Me as an owner of a company wouldn't see any I did to cause your situation either, is all I'm saying. I don't mean to be rude at all, and if you were here in person I'd be able to explain ...

I agree with what Epik said. Here is another point of view. Verizon's policies are their policies. I've been selling Verizon for 10 years, and things have changed a lot through the years. Today there are hardly every any early upgrades. I'm shocked when I hear of anyone getting one. I mean they've done away with 1 year contracts, did away with annual upgrades, added an upgrade fee, and changed upgrades from 20 months to ...

Re: Verizon overcharging on 3G4G Hot Spot devices
Jul 16, 2013, 2:36 PM
in the Verizon forum

Not true. We have one we leave on 24/7 in our camper parked at the campground and there is no real data use when we're not there and not using it. You'll of course have a few mb here and there, but nothing to speak of. It sounds like you have some sort of issue. Of course they're going to tell you data could be sent or received unless it's powered off. That's just covering themselves ...

Sounds like maybe you just moved the SIM card? Not sure. Either way just have Verizon fix the voicemail feature to the appropriate one.

Never heard of it. Verizon hasn't sold Kyocera devices in YEARS and years. Also for Straight Talk that uses Verizon the only devices you can use are the Straight Talk branded devices. You can't bring your own.

I've had people do them over the phone with the AOL team, which I thought was the only way and they keep it.

Can't see how it would. iMessage is strictly through Apple.

Re: Billing issues on data overages

Very interesting. My dads usage was what we thought was too high the week after Christmas in the Ft. Myers area. He had used over 1GB all the sudden and doesn't do much on his device or usually use that much. We thought maybe an app got left running or something because we could come up with no way he had used that much. No overages but highly suspect usage.

Re: iPhone to Android reset iMessages.

I would think it would be iMessage that doesn't know. Your phone number is still registered with iMessage. I think if you connect the old iPhone to wifi and then turn off iMessage it should fix it. Make sure if you have any other devices with iMessage that they are linked to your phone number for iMessage too. It would be nice if it were somehow automatic, just not sure how iMessage would know on ...

A SIM card is not going to affect your audio. All it does is authenticate your device with the network. If you have data and can call, it's doing its job. I see no way possible for it to be causing this issue. I also agree with hardware issue. If a wipe didn't fix it, it's internal and needs replaced.

You're wrong. You can still do an AOL and retail unlimited data.

Yes, it's true. Any upgrade will lose unlimited data. Only way to keep it is pay retail or don't upgrade.

Re: Question about transferring upgrade eligibility
Nov 27, 2012, 2:08 PM

But I believe it's just for your eyes sake. If you back out they don't stay reversed. It's just showing you that to make it easier to understand, but in reality it's all being done systematically behind the scenes without moving any dates.

Re: Looking to Switch??

There isn't any "repairing" equipment. It's either under warranty or it's not. If it is, they will replace it with a phone call to tech support, and ship you the replacement. It's not done in stores. I've seen very few errors ever with bills. When I have it's been caused by user error by a rep or something.

Re: Corporate stores don't know about new phone releases?
Nov 17, 2012, 8:38 PM
in the Verizon forum

I'm sure they'll have it. As often as new devices launch is easy at the store level to not know what's coming fairly soon. I used to be able to tell you a lot better than I can now.

Re: Corporate stores don't know about new phone releases?

Plus, it's also available for pre-order right now. We've already done so for a customer. Not sure how that's handled at corp either, but we have the capability.

Re: Corporate stores don't know about new phone releases?
Nov 17, 2012, 8:23 PM
in the Verizon forum

Wouldn't be surprised. It's probably more they haven't looked at the resources made available to them about it. They probably don't receive the devices or materials until a day before, that's not surprising at all. I know there is information listed about it on our internal site, and I'm sure theirs too. Plus there was a webinar call this week I was on discussing it. Corp could be different but I'm sure they have similar things ...

To follow up on that... there is more training for Apple devices than any other device out there. Pages and pages of training over each device and IOS release.

Re: Corporate stores don't know about new phone releases?
Nov 17, 2012, 6:15 PM
in the Verizon forum

There isn't much training on new devices. On the Indirect side we get a learning course about most new devices, but not all, and that's it. Heck they're all so similar these days there isn't much to know other than what the specs are. Most customers that really care have done their own research.

Re: Screw all of that
Nov 8, 2012, 3:20 PM

Yeah, that's what we do too. We had about 4 of them charged back earlier this year. They were all just under the 6 month chargeback period when we got charged back. The only difference was these were all cases where the person moved the equipment to a totally different account after the upgrade. We disputed it and were told sorry, nothing we can do. If you notice in EROES when you do an ESN change ...

Re: Screw all of that
Nov 8, 2012, 11:28 AM

Can I ask you how as someone else at the store level? maybe you're direct and I'm indirect is the issue? If it were done as an alternate upgrade, or swapping the upgrade as the person above suggested, that would remove the unlimited data from the line receiving the phone. As indirect if I upgrade the other line, and then do ESN changes I'll get charged back on the upgrade months down the road saying the line that ...

Re: New phone new carrier!! HELP!!!!!

Either would be fine. Verizon reps unfortunately are basically rewarded for selling Android over Apple so you'll hear that a lot whether its true or not. Basically on Android you'll get more customizations and a bigger screen. That's really about it. Apple is good for just working and working well, plus generally easy to learn and use. Customers go both ways for their own reasons.

Re: Data plan switched
Sep 10, 2012, 9:04 PM

I don't disagree it shouldn't have happened without telling you. I could see it easily happening though. Considering the system automatically does it with basically no employee intervention and it happens for every single upgrade it's just kind of routine.

Re: Data plan switched

So did you do an upgrade or not? If so it's been policy and very public since June. It would have been on the contract you received.

Honestly, right now I'd say the Samsung Galaxy S III. It's hard to beat. Seems like a great phone. The Razr Maxx is about to be discontinued in the next couple months. There will be a Razr Maxx HD coming though.
