Re: European...
I think it's more because providers insist on giving us shoddy phones. $80.00 for a Motorola V220? You know you can get a Megapixel cameraphone on Sprint for that price.
In fact, other than Sprint (who has a 2MP cameraphone in their lineup) (I'd say Verizon, except they keep locking their phones down tighter than a gnat's behind) , and the occaisional nice phone from Cingular (the V3, The 7610) , providers seem to fear next-generation phones.
Can you blame them? ...
Bad news for Sprint, Worse news for Cingular.
Hrm... they can't manage the subscribers they already have.
Re: You think so..... Time to get elected officals involved.
Hey, you know what?
Verizon was being deceptive. The average consumer doesn't have time to go into the nitty-gritty details of bluetooth, and Verizon knows it. People bought the phone with the intention that they could sync it with their computer. Take a look at Phonescoop, and how many people have complained about it! Get the hint? No? That's why you're supporting Verizon. Verizon disabled BT SOLELY FOR PROFIT. That's what swindlers do.
Re: Kirtland & Packard Has Got Nothing
Pardon me if you're unemployed- it would explain why you're stuck with Verizon.
Re: Verizon should be shut down, but this is a good start.
Hrm... maybe you need to drive around and see the endless sea of "Switch to America's Best Network Today" for VZW.
Re: Kirtland & Packard Has Got Nothing
Disabling it on a cheap phone, while still horrific, is a little more excusable, since the LG-325's purpose was clearly to be more of a 'showoff' phone anyway.
Sprint also doesn't do a full lockout of the phone ala VZW.
Not justifying Sprint's actions, but VZW is clearly the worst. On a high-end phone clearly intended for business users, they disabled a function many were counting on so they could screw the customer yet again. (unless you think 'Get It Now' ...
Re: Kirtland & Packard Has Got Nothing
Statistics? All of my coworkers use bluetooth to synchronize their Nokias to their computer.
Re: Verizon should be shut down, but this is a good start.
Except the Blackberry wasn't disabled for the sole purpose of forcing customers to use proprietary services- a major difference.
Largest network doesn't = best network.
Re: Kirtland & Packard Has Got Nothing
Do you know what the most common usage of BT is? File transfer / syncing. Do you honestly mean to tell me that advertising bluetooth and then disabling this feature isn't going to create frustration, when just about every other carrier has bluetooth enabled on their cell phones for this reason?
Stop BSing, moron.
Verizon should be shut down, but this is a good start.
If you saw: "use bluetooth to connect your phone to your PC or PDA"
... and knew that almost all other BT phones could send files back and forth over BT.....
What would you assume?
Verizon is the crooks of the wireless industry. From locking people out of their own phones with BREW ("Screw You Now" Services... that offer no benefit to the consumer over Java) , to lying about their service "America's Best Network" , I hope Verizon gets their ...
Re: Kirtland & Packard Has Got Nothing
Are you dumb or blind? It says on VZW's website the phone can hook up to your computer. That's false advertising... deceptive at the very least.
VZW deserves to be sued. They are cooks, plain and simple, and they exist solely to screw people out of their hard-earned money.
Re: Rant and more Rant
It's more like someone suing a car mfr. for selling a car with a radio, but locking them out of certain stations because it would anger Clear Channel.
Get it, moron?
Re: Picture/Video Capacity
I believe you can take 35 pictures or videos. The phone has dedicated memory for "in camera" pix and vids. This does not go against the internal 6.5MB memory, since it's separate "In Camera/Camcorder memory". However, when you assign a pic to your contacts, it then goes and uses the 6.5MB of memory.
