Re: Has Sanyo/Kyocera made any successful phones yet?

I had the Sanyo M-1 phone a number of years ago. The phone was WAY ahead of it's time then. It was a solid phone. The camera on the phone was 2nd to none. I took a 2 MP picture that won a photography award at a county fair. It was an outdoor shot but no one knew it was taken with a camera phone. LOL. Point is: Yes, they CAN make a good phone.

I went into the Sprint Store to buy this phone. They gave me a coupon to save an additional $50 to purchase the phone online through their website. I have to wait a few more days for this phone, but the addional savings are worth it. Finally, they had the phone on display in the store. It's nails man. The camera is excellent and takes a great picture in low light. The only downer about the phone is that ...

Ok guys....So, let me rephrase. If you had to rate the camera quality from 1-10. 10, being the best....1, the worst. How would you rate it? Are the pictures going to come out grainy? How well does it take a picture in the dark?

Hey man. I certainly appreciate the offer. However, I have $175 in rebates available to me through sprint. I'd be a fool to not take advantage of those. I'll wait. Who knows, but the time they release it, maybe something better will come along. Again, thanks.

Chris, I hear ya! I'm tired of the wait as well. No word as of yet. You can, through the sprint website, sign up to have them contact you when the phone is available, however I have considered changing carriers and going with a different phone. I, too, am tired of the wait.

AS I understand it, no. If you are looking for a top notch smart phone for verizon, you should take a look at the Samsung Omnia. (I'm sorry, I just haven't been a fan of Blackberry's)This was my first choice of phones, ther than HTC Pro. However, for whatever reason, Verizon says my current number is not transferable which was a deal breaker. Good luck my friend. Let me know how you make out.

The Touch Diamond is already out and available through sprint. However, the Pro is still on back order.

Ok. I see where most people rate the camera on this phone as top notch. However, the most recent post says the camera quality is not good. Someone give me the straight dope please. Camera quality is very important to me. I currently have the Sanyo M-1 and find the camera to be top notch. Can anyone compare the 2 camera's? I'm still waiting for Sprint to make this phone available. They say they are on back order!
