Yes, I am sad to say that you are correct. However, I've been in contact with Nextel/Sprint support and they tell me that the issue should be corrected within the next 2/3 weeks. In the meantime, I found a tech (luckily) that walked me through some steps to change a few settings and I've been sending/receiving text messages with no problems lately . . . knock on wood . . .

I had a Nextel 7100i for a little over 2.5 years. I could hardly text from it. I switched to Sprint and got the 8330 Curve in May '08. Could text all day with ease with it, but, Sprint converage sucked in my area. I am switching back to Nextel and will be receiving the 8350i in a few days. How is the text messaging service on it? Any problems? Thanks!

Actually, outside my house, it's excellent. Inside is a whole 'nother story! (ugh) I get a few bars and 1X inside . . . I figured that has something to do with the slow speed on sending pictures.

It seems like when I take a picture and send it to someone's email address, it takes forever!

Does anyone know what the indicator means that looks like a bullseye? I get it when sending an email with a picture attachment. Which takes forever, by the way!

I've been with Nextel/Sprint since '01 . . . I've had the 7100i since October of '05 . . . I called Sprint today and complained . . . I got an additional $50, plus they waived my shipping and activation fee . . . $129.99 after my mail in rebate . . .
