....does not work any more or will not for much longer. if your still getting serivce with it great but dont expect this to work much longer. I tried to install on 3 different moguls. all 3 failed. save yourself from doing a hard reset and dont install this. this hack is posted on ppcgeeks.com and they admit it is not working due to sprint blocking it. don't ask why just blame sprint lol.

The way sprint looks at it is when you were a new customer, you recieved the new customer discount. It would deffently be nice to have the upgrade discount deduct from the new customer discount but according to sprint, they really dont make to much money on phones due to the major discounts offered.

after 12 months your recieve a 75.00 discount off of the retail price of any phone. after 23 months of being with sprint, you get 150.00 discount off the cost of any phone. of course you have to sign a 2 year contract and there is an $18.00 upgrade fee.

What kind of phone are you using? you should have change anything in your registry.

sprint_2008 pointed something out i forgot. once you select 'connect' after making sure setting are correct in internet sharing, you will disconnect from active sync automatically and if you dont have an open data connection on your phone, it will not work. so....make sure you open your internet explorer on your phone and that its connected to the internet. then you would want to tap 'connect' in the internet sharing program. Sorry if im confusing anyone!

im not sure how more specific i can be. first, you must have a windows capable device. second, i have only tested this on a ppc-6700(verizon) and ppc-6800(sprint). I had a treo 700wx before my mogul and i believe that phone is capable as well however in your programs its called 'modem link' instead of 'internet sharing' and the settings are a little more tricky then the pocket pc's. They are converting so fast becasue sprint has to 'rent' p2k, premiere from convergys corp. Nextel owned there own billing system before the merger which is probably one big factor as to why the merger happened. Sprint is cheap lets face it. almost all individual liable customers have been converted and this weekend a hugh corporate conversion will happen. Sprint is trying to save money asap, which i can't blame them for doing but ubp seriously is not fun. ...

...going to sprintusers.com. they have a portal were you can send your self a text message with your personal ringtone as a link(it should be called 'focus'). it will actually convert them to be compatable with your phone. also, try using the program called, mptrim to shorten your own mp3's to save memory and also select the part of the song you want to be your ringtone. use google to find the software. goodluck!

there should be an error code with the request of the password. most of the time this would be caused if you recently suspended your internet and reactivated, or transferred from iden network to cdma network. also, make sure your network settings say sprint not phone as modem. if you keep recieving error, i would contact tech support.

this error means that you do not have the phone as modem plan according to documents. these are the steps i use to connect on the mogul (should be the same for sprint touch). go to: programs> internet sharing> pc connection should be usb> network settings should be sprint (NOT PHONE AS MODEM). After confirming these are your connections, it should say connect on the bottom right hand corner of your screen. select connect and everything should work. make ...

Thanks for the respone but i dont think i need to do this just yet as my phone is providing me with data service via usb and my phone data settings on sprint, not phone as modem. im just wondering if anyone has heard of this or know if it is bypassing the system?

this isnt going to break sprint at all even if the phone wasnt a success even though we all know its gonna be. to many big plans for late 2008 for sprint to have a phone shut down buisness.
