So far so good with Sprint...but

there are a few things...

1st of all, I have the LG Rumor phone...is there a way to put the phone on Vibrate using a shortcut?

1. Customer Service seems to suck. They are not very profesional, seem to be a 3rd party customer service provider (not in house/corporate customer service for Sprint, they try to up-sell you like crazy).

2. With Verizon, you could get a FREE text message telling you the amount of time you have spoken as well as your txt msg/data usage. You can dial *4 with Sprint and a nice lady tells you what you have used but its not the same as getting it in writing. I know I could go on my computer but sometimes thats a hastle.

3. With Verizon, I had the 250 msg plan. That means that I could send/rec 250 either...

1a. The volume up and down buttons do that... There's no shorter way.

1b. This is true, as it is for many large companies in any industry. The trick is to educate yourself to be able to self-manage your account as much as possible.

2. Yep. I agree they should offer a similar service.

3. For picture messages, if you don't have a data plan you pay for data usage. It's stupid, but it is what it is. The only good thing is that data service is inexpensive compared to others.

4. Similar to above. Verizon charges out of your minutes for that type of stuff, though. Sprint has a $15 data pack which is better than everything else out there.

Really, Sprint isn't the carrier to go with unless you want to use data features. Data...

4. Verizon does not charge you min for going into Get it Now but tehy do charge MB usages at $1.99/MB compared to Sprint at $.03/KB which is more then $30/MB.

with GetItNow you dont really need to use Data or get charges. GetItNow is a portal where you can find different applications such as weather or sports that allow you to do and get info on different things. These applications have a set fee ranging from $2.00/month to whatever. The only time you are charged for Data is if you get on Verizon's Mobile Web. With Verizon there was no need for me to use their data because all I needed to do with my cell I either had for free or through the use of applications which cost a set amount.

well.. not quite either: under America's Choice calling plans, you get billed for airtime when accessing the mobile web ($1/day or $5/month) or GIN. Period. With the new Nationwide calling plans, you get billed $1.99/MB of usage on GIN and MW. You can subscribe to an unlimited data plan of $15/month with both AC and NW calling plans; no minutes taken out under AC and no MB charges under NW. Or you can remain under a PAYG that bills you airtime/ MBs depending on your calling plan.

I am a cheap bastard so GetItNow was getting boring for me because I had been on it for a while and was not able to find anymore FREE Trials for any of their songs and/or applications.

correct. im tired of you sprint fanboys saying that their data rates are sooo great. they suck! sprint has the highest data charges of all the major carriers. vzw is $1.99/mb. att is around $10.60/mb and sprint is a ridiculous $30/mb. i hate sprints data rates and i hate the fact that i have to PAY to look at my pic msgs.

the reason I went with Sprint was because my fiance has it and her family. I was able to get on their family plan. Verizon did not work for me near my house and inside my office building so I wanted to go for another carrier. My family and friends have Verizon.

Actually, if all your wanting is picture mail, just get the picture mail plan for 5$ a month. That includes sending and receiving pictures and the web site to view them. And yes, Sprint's CS is HORRIBLE. I can't understand what they are saying sometimes. I use the online chat feature to add things on my plan and ask questions now. Sprint has charged me for things I never did for five months in a row now (my dad told the supervisor that if this happens again, he wants out of the contracts without ETF, and sure they don't have to let us out because it is a legal binding contract, but we would eventually get one of those pretty letter in the mail saying we are cutting you off because your sooo unsatisfied.) So just watch you bill carefully. And...

If you dont tell us to remove a feature there is no way in hell we would know your not useing it, we do not police our clients to make sure they are useing the services they are paying for. Nor should we, that would be a serios "privacy issue." Bottom line, dont complain to me if you have are paying for a feature and are not useing it, that is your stupidity and your fault.

No cheap ass you sure are doing a lot of whining considering Sprint is providing you with CALLS inside your house, unlike stupid verizon! Go back to verizon for their joke GIN service with zero content...it's just ridicules that you're bitching about this when you can have data for a 15 damn dollars!

first off, I dont think Sprint is special or something for allowing me to make calls inside my house. From my point of view....all cell phones should allow you to make calls inside of your house. The point of a cell phone is to make calls. People these days want to consolidate everyting and not have a cell phone and a home phone.

I will admit...I am a cheap bastard....I dont want to pay for it if I can get it for free.

GetItNow was a very good service, especially since it was FREE. You were aloud to browse as much as you want and try out things for free. The only time you paid for something is if you actually downloaded an application.

With Verizon, I paid $5 and got 250 Text/Picture/Video messages. I did not have to pay f...

No offence but not one carrier guarentees service inside a building. Buildings have a nasty habit of screwing up cell signals it has allways been like that. That being the case depending on signal strength in your area you may or may not be able to place calls inside a building...

you have to understand I am a cheap ass.

when I had verizon I always complained about the fact that it was so expensive and you never could do things like get free ring tones, use 3rd party websites to get free ring tones, etc. etc. I was always looking for the deal.

I guess you can say the reason I even came to Sprint was because well I was too cheap to have a home phone and a cell phone.

I had been living in my house for about 1 year. I decided that I did not want to pay for both AT&T landline and a cell phone. So I took out my landline and therefore found out that in the end, Verizon was not really reliable in my home and in the imediate surrounding area.

I looked to another cell phone company ... Sprint because my fianc...

I am sorry to bring this back up and I am sorry I am so late to help but I feel like I can offer some more assistance here.

1. Customer Service: For the most part you are right. We do have Sprint Centers and We Have outsourced centers all over the US and in the Philippines. Watch for improvements here. Trust me it is much better now than it was. It is still best to take advantage of your local stores for help if possible.

2. Minute Monitoring: Aside from the *4 and the customer website you can also download Minute Monitoring Apps and Account Balance Monitoring apps from Sprint for FREE if you have the Sprint Store on your phone (it must be a Power Vision phone).

3. ::::: First I want to point out that VZW no longer has that 250 t...

To be honest...I dont want a fancy...schmanzi...phone. I am interested in having a cell phone to talk on and text/picture message on for as LITTLE money as possible. Now dont get me wrong, I do more texting than anything else but if I do take a video and/or picture message...I would like some way to send it over to my email or another person.

Actually, with Verizon, I was getting a great deal...I just switched because the coverage sucked in and around my house and honestly thats why I got a cell phone for.

With Verizon, I was saving 15% through my company. I was on the $39/month plan and had 450 anytime mintues with Unlimited IN Calling (mobile to mobile) and Unlimited Nights and Weekends. I had the $5/month 250 txt/video mess...

Hey I dunno if you know what your talking about sprint rep but I work for VZW and the information you are giving out is incorrect. We still do offer the $5 text plan for 250. Also our $15 plan is for 1500 txt/pix/flix not 1000 and those $10/$15 plans and up give Unlimited texting to vzw customers as well.

in the 90% of cases cheap service is s**t.
if you send multimedia sms it takes centuries to send a picture you must take it with very and i mean VERY POOR quality to make it fast.

I you go cheap your expectation should be poor too.

If you think you deserve better service just pay for it.
$15 buck for power vision sprint tv pic/video mail and radio.... it is not really expensive for me.

to be honest I dont really make a lot of money...so every $ I spend is important.

From my college days, I learned about getting "deals" on everyday items, etc (because as a college student you dont really have the money). Anyway, I guess you can say I kept that lifestyle for myself after I got done with school and I am always looking for getting that "deal"...surfing the net for the best offers, going to sales, buying in bulk...etc.
